I never listened to Lupe and I NEVER will...

If you believe that Lupe is lyrically better than Pac or Nas that's your opinion, but that doesn't mean you have to throw dirt on Pac's and Nas's body work...

Lupe isn't even respected by his peers (this generation of rappers)...

Really? How can you have an opinion then? See how you just undermined yourself?

I didnt throw dirt on Pac's body of work, he's the GOAT. But if you think Pac's (and definitely naS') penwork is seeing Lu's then youre lost, plain and simple. There's no way around it.

neither one of those niccaz can weave (or have weaved) several different themes/metaphors in and out of a verse like Lu did on the 1st half of his "BMF" and the shyt was seemless. Like em or hate em, his pen game is top notch.

Tupac is a better songwriter

And he has the greater catalog

/end discussion

How does Nas have a greater catalog? Illmatic and arguably It Was Written are better than any Pac album.

More examples of Nas' lyricism.
Through the lights cameras and action, glamour glitters and gold
I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe
When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast
to conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets
Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun
Trick my Wisdom, with the system that imprisoned my son
Smoke a gold leaf I hold heat, nonchalantly
I'm grungy, but things I do is real it never haunts me
while, funny style nikkaz roll in the pile
Rooster heads profile on a bus to Riker's Isle
Holdin weed inside they p*ssy with they minds on the
pretty things in life, props is a true thug's wife
It's like a cycle, nikkaz come home, some'll go in
Do a bullet, come back, do the same shyt again
From the womb to the tomb, presume the unpredictable
Guns salute life, rapidly, that's the ritual

A drug dealer's dream
Stash cream keys on a triple beam
Five hundred SL green, ninety-five nickle gleam
Condominium, thug dressed like a gentleman
Tailor made ostrich, Chanel for my women friend
Murderin, numbers on your head while I'm burglarin
Shank is servin em, whassup to all my nikkaz swervin in
New York metropolis, the Bridge brings apocalypse
Shoot at the clouds feels like, the holy beast is watchin us
Mad man my sanity is goin like an hourglass
Gun inside my bad hand I sliced tryin to bag grams
I got hoes that used to milk you
nikkaz who could've killed you
Is down with my ill crew of psychoes
Nas Escobar movin on your weak production
Pumpin corruption in the third world we just bustin

He wasnt as far as just straight up rhyming and spitting. But he was more versatile as far as making club bangers and tracks for the ladies and the heartfelt type songs. So i think he was a more well rounded MC than Nas but not a better lyricist.

Nas might not have the charisma or delivery that Pac had, but Pac couldn't rhyme like that.

So he's saying that he's Castro compared to others who claim to be real? What's the line after that?
The lyrics are
"Chips glossy,rich Pablo Escobaro
Sophisticado, blazing hollows like saddles
Rap apostle, nacho cheese I'm Castro
Compared to these nikkaz who swear to be
But impostors like Hoffa"
He makes pop culture references to two films Hoffa and Blazing Saddles, he's basically talking about how rich he is this is a mafioso subject. Nacho Cheese=Money, he's wealthy like Castro.

Yeah, the lyrics are written... if we are talking about LYRICS we are talking about words on paper or screen or what have you.

You can say, "nacho cheese, I'm Castro" as many times as you want, lyrically its not in the same stratosphere as "Streets on Fire"

How is that wack though? Deja Vu is one of Nas' best songs, he's dropping rhyme after rhyme on that verse.

I already broke down that verse in another thread... @mobbinfms knows where its at. Man, read those lyrics... if youre really impressed I just dont know what to say... I mean, the nicca wrote that he "unfolds" a "scroll" that shouldve been the 1st clue that he doesnt know what the fukc he's talkin about.

that verse is an example of a nicca failing at trying to use apocalyptic imagery to sound deep. But if you know what the words actually are and mean, the verse is top notch basura.
