How is Drop a Gem not the G.O.A.T. diss track?

Naming names makes the whole country/world scream with you: Fcuk mob deep, fcub biggie and fcuk badboy...:pacspit:

The fact that Biggie was the main target was nothing but luck for the mobb. They got only a stray bullet. If Pac made a whole track about em...mannn :whew:
Yeah. That's the thing...Pac made a few references to the Mobb...but nothing that impressive, on Hit Em Up. He wasn't even rapping, it was all in the rant at the end. Then the Mobb crushed him with Drop a Gem on Em. Then Pac dies and the beef is over at that point. Some posthumous disses leaked...but the Mobb couldn't respond at that point.
So it's a difficult battle to judge, since Pac never really had a diss record at them.
I would have loved to have heard a real Pac response and then P go back at him on another record...but we all know what happened in Vegas.

If you're correct, then one guy almost died and lived to be healthier than ever.

The other guy's been sickly and weak his whole life.

Or...

One guy was dead and the sickly guy talked shyt after the incident.
:dwillhuh:
What does any of this have to do with the music breh? :mjlol:
But if you want to look at it that way...Pac got bodied by someone with a serious medical condition :ohhh:

Basically. Good disses have to either be factual or funny.

Mobb deep are studio gangsters. Empty tough guy talk is lame. Anyone can pop shyt in the studio. It's more potent when you know the person is about that action.

However, this

The Truth is so fukking vulgar, like to the point there's absolutely nowhere that beef could go afterwards on wax...there's no valid lyrical response to that shyt, jeezy would have to go see that man

I can't respect a rapper that talks shyt on wax then gets thrown under cars by Keith Murray, knocked out several times, and got exposed for dancing in The Nutcracker ballet recital
What does any of this have to do with the music?
Again - do you need to be intimidated by a big strong man to "enjoy" hip hop? :scust:

It's a much better record than a diss. It's great great song, it's a good diss, but it's kinda just full of empty threats. It's funny though. Great diss records are more hard hitting (with facts) and personal imo.
Empty threats (when well executed) >>> hard hitting personal shyt
Just look at Super Ugly.
Generally I would agree with you though.

If you completely remove the artistry from it then yes. It's better to kill your opponents friend and rap about it - then to spit some creative :duck:

I never saw it that way - the record was already out there.

I've had this convo before....I remember someone saying that maybe they had plans of putting it on the album prior to his death and it just turned out that way. But what if Mobb Deep had control and knew what they were doing actually green lighting it to be on the album afterwards? What if it was never meant to be on the album and instead was just meant for the dj's but after his death they said 'fukk him lets put this on the record' just to be spiteful and evil.
