So dumb nikkas being easily influenced is a win for her him? Ok.

I'll let y'all cook.

Yea it is. Regardless of who he influenced, the fact that he influenced MILLIONS of people all over the world turned him into what he is today. Landed him multi-million dollar endorsements and sponsorships. The first black president relied on Jay to help him reach the younger demographic. He's respected by high end art curators and dealers all over the world, he's completely transcended the genre, and helped bring it to where it is today.

Lol @ jay name dropping a bunch of shyt you nikkas never could afford making him influential. Yall swear camel ya dad. Remember when camel killed autotune?

:mjlol:

If you think that's the only way Jay's been influential you can't possibly have really listened to a good amount of his music.

EDIT: There's far too much stupidity in this thread. To sum it up, if Jay's not a legend then there are no legends in rap history. If someone wants to argue against him being GOAT status, fine, but to argue against him being a legend is impossible.

How Sway? He's a dikkriding fakkit who loves the attention.

How can you have influence when you're the biggest biter/coattail rider in the game?

Jay Z embodies that cultural shift that occurred between 95-2005. He was hiphop when he started, hood rich, filled with a criminal intent, but flourishing and growing.

He is hiphop now, corporate, known world wide, commercialized, and rich beyond belief. If their is one artist that personifies that transition of the culture from back then to what it is today it is Jay Z. That's why he is the Goat. He is the Godfather of the game.

Jay telling you're stupid ass to not wear a jersey is not influential. Him advertising/name dropping Europeon designers/watch makers in his music is not influential. It's lame and pretentious.

Cam'ron is more influential than Jay Z

Kanye is more influential than Jay Z

Em is more influential than Jay Z( I hate Eminem)

All his albums except RD have entered the billboard at the #1 spot. He surpassed the Beatles for this recognition years ago. If you weren't there to live it, you would never understand it. You cat's be showing your age.

You can keep yanking that opinion chain as much as you want but at the end of the day he's had critical and commercial success continually over a 20 year period.

When the shelf life for the average rap artist is 2-3 albums and you've got a guy who has 10+ #1 albums with some of his best reviewed material in the middle and towards the end of his career clearly there's something special there.

You're just blind if you can't see that :yeshrug:

I like Jay Z, but the way y'all put him on a pedestal is crazy.

He has flaws.

And he hasn't made a dope solo record in years. Y'all keep talking like he been on top forever...that nikka been cold for awhile now.

He is damn-near irrelevant.

All the business shyt is cool, but he is waaaaay past his prime and fukked his legendary status up by making terrible music these last couple years.

I don't dikkride nikkas who ain't paying me so you can keep defending him all you want it ain't changing my opinion. Half you nikkas got some kind of bias anyway.
