I loved college, but I wish I didn't go -- at least for a year or two.
I just realize now that at the time, I wasn't as mentally prepared and dedicated. It wasn't that I couldn't do the work. I'm a smart guy, I think. But you just have to know why you are there and put the fun stuff to the side a bit.

Thankfully I didn't wind up with too much debt. I feel bad now for kids who go to school and have to figure out what they want to be while racking up $20,000 or more in debt each year.

My folks paid for it completely. I have no debts or unpaid student loans. :yeshrug:

I will admit, if I had to pay out of pocket for it I would of never of done it.

People talk about this as being your fault, but it really isn't. You can have good social skills, be fun/interesting, but if you don't "fit in" to a group, you'll probably be alone. I knew a lot of people like this. They were on good terms with people, and they'd have friends in the classroom, but when the weekend came around they were on their own because they just didn't fit into a particular "clique".

College is basically highschool 2.0 in terms of the social scene. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Well that sucks. What they don't tell you is that socially, most people don't evolve past the high school mentality. All that changes is that people won't say shyt to your face and will instead just say it when you aren't there, and your parents aren't there. shyt like social hierarchy, social status, cliques, all exist.
Im not trying to be mean but u just sound like a anti-social outcast. Making friends in HS and college is not as hard as you are making it. I was never the life of the party in HS or even now in college but ive never had a problem connecting with my peers and finding friends to hang out with. There is a "scene" for everyone, you just have to let yourself be vulnerable and come out of your shell. Im only responding to your posts because I dont want any impressionable high school kids lurking this thread to have this horrible image of college that you are painting.

I went to a small private university, it was pretty fun. College parties were great

Great years, here's a pic of me back in 2009 at a college party

Only other thing I hated about college(kind of a personal let-down) was that I didn't get into any legit fukkery, no binge drinking, no getting high, no running trains on broads, etc. I don't have any crazy college stories, but considering the school I went to, it's a good thing. I ain't really with the craziness like that.:whoa:
:heh: you don't need college to do that shyt. You can still do all that now...Hit up a club / bar....

While I was there I liked it, but after graduating and facing reality, I hate that I went through that:huhldup:

I enjoyed my broke high school and college years...its what you make of it.

I went to Louisiana Tech

-was pretty much broke
-had no car
- didnt join a frat
- was drug free
-had the same girl from high school throughout college

But I still had a lot of friends (gamers, sports guys, clubbers, classmates, co-workers, foreigners etc.)

I got to play in gaming tourneys, I played intramural sports, i went out , played pranks, talk geasy to females, got in fights, got to witness a lot of fukkery, etc.

Not to mention Grambling State was like 5min. Away and Louisiana-Monroe is like 20 min. Away.

And when @cfountain made it there it was:

I hated it because I was surrounded by idiots and wasn't learning anything relevant

I prob took 3 classes in college that were actually useful ... tops

College also hooked me up with a drug habit because I was so bored and frustrated smh

as soon as I graduated I was no longer depressed

you keep assuming that even half these people went to college for anything other than to watch football games if you want

College has been pretty awesome. I dormed and had a gf my first year so I was getting laid all the time. This year I am single and dont work part time so I have unlimited freedom. IMO The best thing you can d in college is connect with faculty, then you will have no problems approaching potential friends or girls.
