Not sure why you quoted Canada as being a solution the slaves who escaped to Canada, majority of them end up settling back in africa liberia, Sierra Leone, nigeria or turned white. Which is why the population of black nova Scotian is small today

I thought about it when I lived abroad. The US with it's Draconian tax laws taxes you abroad. That 90K exemption is ok but not enough if you are a high earner. And god forbid you are working in another Western country and you are taxed on both ends. 
The passport is powerful though and embassies are everywhere if needed (came in handy when running out of passport sheets in Frankfurt). Also, unlike some black Americans I can trace my lineage to the land pre-Columbus (mom's maternal fam) and my dad's fam can trace dad's lineage to the early 1800s Census. Dad's fam fought in the Civil War to WW II (his dad). My mom's grandfather also served in WWII. We are indeed Americans and not Johnny come latelys. My dad punk ass avoided the draft for Nam though. Love giving those smug ass CAC look as most of their family came here in the 1900s. Also, I know the textbook version of American history and the unofficial version. Got a whole lotta nikkas inside me as Michael Eric Dyson once said.

I live in Nova Scotia now...Moved to Toronto from West Palm Beach in January 2015...decided to move here.
Nova Scotia is the home of North Preston, Canada's ONLY all black town, near Halifax.
Black population here is 2.8% (3%) vs Canada's 2%...No Caribs, all descendants of African Americans.
No african americans whatsoever in toronto minus people who moved there.

Yeah personally I've been looking at places in SOuth America and the Caribbean to move to.
Places down there are cheap, and you can live nice and happy with little problems.
In Fact I went to the DR, and was looking at coppin a condo there, and eventually retiring, close to the beach.
you can cop something down there real nice for like 50 G's.
But was also lookin at Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and peru as well. I have friends that have been to those places and loved it. Lts of Ex-pats down there.
I wanna check it out for my self one day

yes they might have left, and returned, but they were still brought to Canada to be safe. Most of them left because the weather was to cold up there.
I never said it was the solution, all I was insinuating is that it is certainly a much safer, welcoming place than many areas of the US
