I see you're from NYC.I like Columbia. It’s among my relocation options if I was to move down South along with Tampa, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte.
^^BasicallyCollege/military town. I remember it being hella hot in the summer and some place called 5 points. SC was cool from what I remember
They’re basically a suburb of charlotte with a cheaper cost of living. So you get charlotte while not living there .Better than Anderson hellWhy you even trying to do that to that man

That's kinda what I worry about with the wife. She makes 6figs so I know she will take a paycut..my salary will increase probably $40k+ including bonuses but I know she won't make what she currently makes down there. Was thinking maybe living somewhere between the half way mark of columbia and Charlotte so she has more options to apply between those two towns. Best case scenario she find a remote gig.Affordable housing but low wages.
I stopped at Fort Mills for a bit and noticed it was drastically different than Columbia. It seemed more my vibe but was a decently far from where I would normally be working out of. I would have the ability to work out if any office in the state but would need to be in Columbia atleast twice a week. I can probably still do it if it means more work opportunities for the wife. And deal with the 70mile commute if I have to.It’s a nice place to rise a family but fairly boring in my opinion. I see you’re moving for your job so that’s cool. But if anybody else is interested in moving to South Carolina I would recommend Rock Hill or Fort MillThey’re basically a suburb of charlotte with a cheaper cost of living. How'd you end up breh?I stopped at Fort Mills for a bit and noticed it was drastically different than Columbia. Now that I'm down here it's clear I have to be in columbia 4 to 5 times a week. I can't do that commute to Rock Hill or anywhere not in the midlands. I'm closing on my house in two weeks. I'm setting in Irmo. New community with a pool overseeing the broad river, good lot size and a 5 bedroom 4 full bath 3 car garage with 3600 square feet. It's the dream house for the wife that's having her forget our previous home which she wanted to stay in forever before this Lol. I'm loving the columbia area the longer I been here. There's alot more stuff then what I initially experienced when I came to visit. Only issues is the lack of a Hispanic non Mexican folks. The wife is dominican so finding food and spice products for her is an issue. How'd you end up breh?
Good to hear. I have Columbia in my back pocket as a location if we go back South. You probably going to have to do a Charlotte run once a month for your wife to stock up.Now that I'm down here it's clear I have to be in columbia 4 to 5 times a week.
