HTC to announce Vive price at MWC - Preorders 2/29 - Planned Release April (Update - $799)

HTC just sent me my steam code for my 3 free Vive games.

Man, HTC really knows how to handle a VR launch. What the fukk is Oculus doing? Come today and tomorrow when everybody gets their headsets, the Rift will be long forgotten.

I really wanna cancel my Rift preorder, but I really wanna play the exclusives (plus the non-gaming things it does too). Oculus fukks up the launch, doesn't have controllers, has shyttier specs, etc. fukk ups all around

The Vive is gonna win out I think. But, if Oculus has non-gaming things associated with it (VR movies, VR TV, etc), it might still be worthy to have.

@Hiphoplives4eva reviews are in and people like the Vive more than the Rift. It might be the headset to get for gaming. The Rift has other uses as well though, so it's a tough call. Once I get my Rift, I'll compare the two, but it seems like you'd be good with just getting the Vive.

From what I've been reading the vive seems to be the way to go as well. I'm not impressed with the games though, as most of them seem like cheap gimmicky titles. My wife, whom has never really been interested in gaming ,is pushing me to get one so I may end up copping eventually. The Vive looks like the best bet so far.

I'll be eagerly awaiting for your initial impressions and comparisons though

Everything is all green (which means ready to go), but SteamVR has blinking lights and greyed out boxes
