Pro tip for the Vive: My base stations (sensors) weren't going into sleep mode at all and the motors have been spinning for weeks now. Go into settings and sync the base stations through bluetooth and then select "Go into sleep mode upon exiting" (or something to that extent). Now my base stations are in sleep mode whenever SteamVR is not running. Also, I no longer have to unplug and plug back in the power to the headset with bluetooth selected. I just have to go into settings and "wake up" the base stations. The HTC Vive help desk people didn't even know about it. Thank god for reddit. Now everything is working perfectly with my Vive. I've been playing for the past hour or two. It's good VR, but I still prefer the Rift and it's X1 controller. My arms are actually tired right now after playing a Skeet Shooting game. Pump, shoot, pump, shoot, pump, shoot...etc., is actually tiring.
I don't know if some has said it past this post but others on reddit and other outlits have said the Vive can be played sitting down and with a controller just fine, Also heard that all Rift games can be played with the Vive if you know how to set it up. I am on the verge of buying a VR headset and your input has been great as always bro. Please give a heads up if you find this to be true.

The vive can be configured to play sitting down, standing up, or moving around. It's very immersive.

Rift games can be played on the Vive but they require a hack to do so. The full room VR experience is way better though, so I'm not sure how Rift games can come anywhere close to the immersivenss offered in the Vive experience.

Thanks for confirming that. It seems besides comfortably your limiting yourself with the rift.

Insomniac's "Edge of Nowhere" game just came out exclusively on the Rift today. Downloading now (goddamn these Rift games are so slow to download). :lupe:

Just about finished Blood & Wine. Gonna jump on this tonight :blessed:

I'm really curious about this game
Me too. Rift games are so slow to download, but it should be done late tonight. I finished Blood & Wine today, and I'm jumping in on Edge of Nowhere tomorrow. I'll give some impressions then. It's like the 2nd "real" game to come out in VR. Plus, it's Insomniac :lupe:

played a little House of the Dying Sun. shyt's pretty fun. simpler graphics help it look a lot cleaner than Elite Dangerous. and unlike ED, it has a focus on short combat missions (ED really is like "EuroTruck in space")

controls are tight (I'm using the Steam controller), and combat is fun. the cockpit looks dope in VR, and I like the lack of a body (unlike ED)

gonna play some more tonight :eat:

Thanking apart converting one side or my homes storage room into a gaming room :jbhmm: have nothing in it but black walls and a computer area a 50 inch on the wall for the ps4 and the rest open area to move around freely.
