broke boy mentality :troll:

Nah but.. i didn't drop 2 racks on my gaming PC all at once.

I built my gaming PC back in 2012.. I gotta find how much I spent but I didn't spend that much up front. I often buy new parts impulsively so I'm not a good spokesperson for low costs PC.

I recently upgraded my GPU and it came out to like $400.

I spent over $5K on my rig if you include my 5K monitor. :skip:

We get better graphics, higher resolutions (I mean I play at 5K on half my games and the others that are too demanding, at 4K [true 4K....I don't fukk with less]), better VR (minus that amazing aim controller on the PSVR), cheaper games, etc., etc.

If you want the bleeding edge, you gotta pay for it. And I always want the bleeding edge :manny:

But do you do other stuff on it besides gaming? I'd gladly drop 3000 on a Mac but that's because them shyts last me at least 5 years of 8 hours a day usage, and I'm sure a top of the line PC laptop would do the same, but a desktop? Idk, man, I feel like it'd just lie there gathering dust after I got over the hype of 4k native

but besides better graphics, it's an open platform. you got tons of indie games, backwards compatibility, mods, private servers, early access, etc. plus plenty of options to tailor the hardware how you like (and can afford)

but if you're just into AAA blockbusters it might not be worth it :yeshrug:

But isn't that the only time you need high end components? I bet you could play all your indie games on a ~$700 PC, no?

I work on it as well, but, to be honest, it's way more powerful than I would ever need for my job. I'm trying to convert my SurfaceBook Pro to my work computer at work because the thing is perfect for work (traditional mode, fast, ssd, detachable screen, stylus, etc.).

I just bought my main PC for mainly gaming (and truthfully, my side machine as well). Now the 5K monitor was for both work and gaming. You have so, so much more screen real estate it's kinda crazy. I'm working on bringing my Dell 34" wide-screen into the office, but I gotta buy some converters. I'd love to bring the 5K in, or buy another, but you need 2 display ports for that to work, and we both damn well know: work computers don't have 1, nevertheless 2, display ports at all. It's HDMI all the way.

When I originally built my pc it cost about 1,200$ you could buy a decent pc for 800$ after that I did upgrades over time, water cooling updated gpu and added a large ssd" the best upgrade you can do is adding a ssd". Tbh if you build a pc don't skimp out on 2 things your cpu and your psu everything else upgrade over time. People saying things go outdated quickly are very wrong as pc tech is honestly slowing down in huge advancements. My Skylake pc is amazing for gaming and video editing.
