I know what you sayin but I think its more to it than that. Why would Jeezy sign him and not due diligence on Gibbs before signing him? If he a good boss like he claims to be, he should have known beforehand how the labels was feeling toward Gibbs. It just shows how inadequate Jeezy is as a boss, as Gibbs has said in interviews. Its no way you sign Gibbs if you know the industry didn't have plans of signing him. But yet he signed him and made whatever promises anyway.

Rappers get signed and then people try to mold and mentor them

When you head into these offices you have to have some sort of presentation to sway these label heads to fund your project. I'm talking bout these old muthaphuckas who can careless about how authentic you are, they want to know how marketable and profitable you are and how long can you survive and stay afloat

I'm not defending Jeezy's management skill but this post here is kinda crazy..

Like Jeezy can't have some hope and confidence in the talent he seen in Gibbs.
He said in the interview why he gave those kind of nikkas a chance because he came up the same, in a time where the industry didn't understand Jeezy because he was only talking Trap shyt

Remember can't ban the snowman?

Me personally? I don't.

But if Gibbs wants to be on YG level, he needs to APPEAL to the average fan.

Its not the public's fault they don't like you.
Gibbs won't be on his level because they both have 2 totally different demographics.

he has a critically acclaimed album and is one of the more popular up and coming underground nikkas, Gibbs is fine where he is now.

Rappers are still hung up on labels in 2014? I thought Macklemore, Wiz, Technine, Hopsin, etc already showed the industry that going indie and owning your own masters was the way to go. :dahell:

Gibbs can't sell 100k indie and have 3 15k shows a week? :dahell:

the fukk you talkin bout indy. wiz had a chart topper and macklemore hired a company to get his music on the radio. cmon fam

The country of myself
fred floated

Hook sucked, Beat uninspired, and nothing memorable about the song.

So I can't see the point in Jeezy saying, "I put him on a song with Eminem"

Eminem didnt even rap on the song. Was the song even promoted? Nope
It was a leftover song from TM103

He didn't even really put Gibbs on TM103(He was on the deluxe Edition)

Ross puts his boys on his singles
Jeezy leaves his boys on his mixtapes

Breh, every Gibbs fan knew his situation before he linked up wit Snowman. Gibbs already had burned so many bridges beforehand and that's one of the reasons he wasn't signed but Jeezy took the risk anyway. That's on him

:what: Im not the one who compared them to each other.

your comparing a underground fanbase to a mainstream fambase.

I know that's why I said I'm not defending Jeezy's management skill and said he probably had some hope.

Even Jeezy said in the interview shyt happens to every business sometimes you take a loss when you think you have the "it" thing

He took it as a loss & kept it moving.. Gibbs didn't because money wise he isn't in the same place as Jeezy, more then likely where Gibbs real frustration comes from. Jeezy is able to move from it as to where Gibbs basically has to start over

i think the disconnect is that jeezy thinks its about the money. fred has been saying its about the way jeezy handled him, not about the money
