I like work, but the work culture can be a drag. That's why I'm starting to look for remote jobs. Some companies may require you travel 1-2 times per month to their head quarters and I don't mind that. My commute now is a little less than 40 minutes and I hate it. I work from home two days a week, and that helps, but I still struggle the 3 days I'm there to enjoy it.

The best thing about corporate to me is that it's easy money. If I started a business on my own it would take me a while to get the salary I could working a job. So I'm going to rape Corporate America for as much as they will give me. When I get my PMP, I'm going to transition into straight consulting work. The federal contract I'm working now got paid $560k for a 3 year option. LOL I don't get that much. It's money out here, you just have to position yourself on the right side of it. There is nothing standing between me and $560k, but another person/organization. Now I truly understand the notion of cutting out the middle man.

This shyt is perfectly designed to squeeze just enough life out of you that you have just enough energy left for the weekend..Then the break is short enough just to recharge enough to go back to the start of the process all over again. You're never fully exhausted but never fully rested

Would you rather be unemployed and broke then? Folks are fortunate and spoiled for real. At least you can change your life with a job under your belt vs not knowing where your next dollar is coming from because you have no job. You think you're stuck but you're not.

Some of these folks never had to struggle or been in some real shyt where they get put to the test on how determined they are to make a better life for themselves. They do drastic steps unnecessarily simply because their minds arent right and it's usually the people that are in a good position too so they have the option to do whatever they feel like. Willing to go backwards to find fulfillment and happiness. Makes no sense.

Use your job to your advantage. It's a job yes but remember you get a paycheck. Invest your cash where you can afford and use your credit/cash to get some real estate or something. My homies back home in Oakland are techs for Comcast. They just voted the union out and got an increase. A massive increase at that. My boy went from 32.00 an hour to 39 an hour. That's not a lot of bread for the Bay Area but if you go out to places like Sac, it's a bit more affordable for property. Plus with standby time and overtime they lookin at over 100k easily. That kinda cash man start something up.

Alot of people don't have an investment bone in their body, unable to play the long game

i just finished school last month and had a job lined up but it fell through
i wont admit it to any of my family or friends but honestly im relieved. I've basically took the past month off to just get my mind right
I know ima have to go find a job soon but part of me doesn't want to let go of this simple stress free life :francis:
knowing this will probably be the last time i have this kind freedom makes me feel sick :hhh:

I work a remote office job.

Its not bad and i get paid pretty well (67K) but sometimes i hate myself falling into mediocrity and not striving for more:sadcam:

Whatever happened to "i'd rather die enormous than live dormant":scusthov:

Same here. I try to make time for side business and do both through out the day. But it can be overwhelming. It was all good the first 6 to 12 months, but ever since they seem to think that I don't have enough shyt to do and just pile on. Overall I'm glad I don't have deal with the NYC commute tho. but yea I'm trying to leave the 9-5 life as much as it is possible. The shyt kills your soul.

Join the wave breh, we not with that 9-5 shyt anymore.

Check out the antiwork subreddit. And don't have kids.

Here's an interesting article too, it's alright to do nothing, society has you pressured into feeling guilty about not being "productive" (aka making money for someone else), and tries to define you by your job or how much you work.

Anyone who tries to shyt on you for this line of linking is just projecting their own miserable thoughts that they don't want to accept.

Remember, nobody asked to be born. There are a lot of different paths this can take you, but for me personally it brought me happiness knowing that if I'm not happy by say, age 30, then I can go ahead and kill myself and bow out of all the 9-5 shyt. It's not a selfish thing, the selfish thing is to have children that won't be significantly better off than yourself. Why bring them into this shyt just for them to repeat what you did, work a 9-5 for 40 years, then die?

And don't let them try to tell you that you're supposed to find purpose in life through work, that's bullshyt too. I find meaning in life pursing my passions and finding new hobbies, or topics to learn about. Listening to music, simple shyt like taking my dog for a walk. Sitting in an office all day brings me nothing, and the only reason anyone does it is so that they can eat. If everyone was free to pursue what they wanted without the fear of failure or being homeless/going hungry the world would be much better. How many of y'all would still go work some fast food job, or an office job if you didn't have to? But hey, saying that it gives you purpose helps to forget how soul sucking it really is.
