They will end up hiring somebody who gets on the OPs nerve or even worse he’ll end up doing most of the work anyway at the same pay and position just so he can fully learn this valuable life lesson.

"They might just end up giving you those responsibilities anyway without the title or the pay" is what he said

That's exactly what happens. My dad told me about that before I even got into the workforce.

My first IT manager used to pawn everything off on me while she took PTO and worked from home. Once they figured out that she was running a hustle, she got sent to Bolivia.

They do it in order to continue getting government relief, as well as pandemic benefits. In addition to covering their asses for discriminatory hiring practices.

Can’t rule out a tax write off either.

Always take the job whether you are ready or not.

Some corporate cac what take the job and learn what it entails and how to do it later.

Most employers would rather promote from within than to bring a “new” person in especially in those management level positions.

A lot of those employers have to advertise to give the appearance of objectivity, but most of the time they know who they are leaning towards.

I see this shyt all of the time. Due to hiring laws they need to put on a dog and pony show. Have the job posted for at least 5 days. And have a reason for declining each and every candidate in case they get audited.

You should be happy that they believe enough in you to offer it to you. I know that sounds like some cac shyt to say but corporate America isn’t fair. And us Brehs are already behind the 8ball.

So unless you can go and start your own thing to put food on the table you have to play the game. I’ve played the fukk out of it and I’m sitting at VP eating good. One day I’d like to do my own thing but for now…play the fukking game.
