A lot of black men are closet atheists/agnostics because they know it's a dealbreaker for a lot of black women.

this to a large degree. Also, being black and a non-believer in itself is seen as taboo whether male or female. Personally, i think there are waaaaay more non-believers than you would think. We are free to express ourselves without repurcussions here on the internet

it's not that. It's just I've never heard black men being vocal about it until I came on the coli. I understand that ppl have different beliefs and I respect that but why have I never met a black man who thought like this?

I believe in a higher being, a creator that about it.

We already seen the destruction of that back in the civil war era. If you have all the men being pacified and refuse to control their own destiny than how are we as a community suppose to compete with others?

yea that's kinda my point. A lot of black men (ppl in general) don't follow the bible at all but believe God exists. It's just the downright opposal of it that has me confused cuz like said, I never met one in real life.

black people are magical you'd think black people would have the highest percent of atheist and agnostics, but nope. black folks in such a bad position, many of us can't fathom an existence where sky daddy aint coming down to save us.

I find religion Christianity in particular gives people this fictitious high horse to ride on make them feel better than everyone else when they are really not.

Most of these "Christians" have never even read the bible in its entirety they just remember few quotable scriptures.
Most of these "Christians" leave the most deplorable lives they don't even live by what they beleive in but thinks it's all good on Sunday when they pay a tithe or the good pastor blesses them or forgives them in the name of the lawd

I know many agnostic and atheist individuals who's lives are more upstanding than these bible thumping mental zombies.

Christianity is a white made religion, any black man/woman who are christian are c00ns and don't know their history. This country was built on genocide, slavery, oppression, inequality and others misdeeds supported by christianity, and there are still black people who believe this country is blessed by some sort of god. I was forced to go to church during my young age, but i never believed in these fairy tales, and i'm not vocal about it because my community is too frightened by the truth. When you believe in fairy tales, you stopped looking for the truth, and when you stop looking for the truth, there's no progress at all. The black community hate black atheists more than they hate the people who persecute them for more than 400 years, that's the reason why atheists in our community keep quiet, there's no debate and progress in our community, its a waste of time.

Nope im atheist. Losing my religion was the best thing to happen to me. I encourage all black people follow suit.
