I resigned as well whilst on holiday abroad but the company wrote to me saying that they were going to sue me so I made a story up and am going back next week lol

How come your company let you leave like that? Your lucky as hell

Further to this, I actually had two interviews lined up for the first Monday back :martin:

But as it stands, I won't be able to attend those if I'm going back to my old job.

Still cant bring myself to telling them that I wont be able to attend the interviews.

What is a good way to turn down the interviews without ruining my chances of applying there in the future? I cant believe I find myself in this crazy situation.

when the alarm clock goes off at 6am and I had the :to:

I’m going to be very careful about my next job cos I don’t ever want to go through this shyt ever again. I won’t just accept any job, but I’ll check if it’s what I want, the roles, job description, etc. I can afford to be very selective.

I understand. I am going to something similar right now. My job laid me off in late November and these last 3 months has been the best sleep I had in years. I use to dread every time Sunday hit because that mean it was almost time to start working again on Monday. I don't miss the the long hours, no overtime pay, being the go to person, and being underpaid. Luckily I have been getting severance the past 3 month. I have been hesitant to start looking for work again because I don't want to work for a trash company again. I will probably start looking once this severance end but I still ain't ready to start this grind again.

Condolences for those that don't enjoy their work and congrats OP.
Considering we spend the vast majority of our days at work enjoying your work and actually liking being there and liking your co workers is an absolute must. I’d take a job like that even if the salary wasn’t high compared to a toxic high salaried job. Now that I know what a bad job can do to your mental health, I never want to face that again.

in my next job my first priority would be saving aggressively and having at least minimum 6 months living costs lined up. I don’t ever want to be in a job where I’m forced to stay because I’m broke. I don’t have kids and never would have one so I’ll always have that freedom to quickly bounce when I hate a place.

This is how a lot of Americans feel about their jobs. Working from home alleviated some of that stress. And now Biden is talking about going back in? Companies are about to start losing tons of employees
I legit hope this happens, like what good reason do non essential non top secret employees should be forced to be in an office 80 hours a week. I wish my job would try that shyt
