People are scared to admit they listen to thug, I'm not afraid. I am however finding it hard to defend him in any conversation with the small/weak minded people who always roll their eyes and bring up something gay.

First of all,his name is young thug. I remember the first I heard that I just shook my head. Such an awful rap moniker. It sounds like a parody rapper name.
Further, his gay antics put a lot of people off. He's alienated a lot of people off top right there.
Lastly,he really isn't a good artist. I can bump a song here or there but his music is disposable.
He just doesn't connect with people at all. He's built himself up as a joke and people don't take him serious as an artist

Thug makes mixtape music and says the same thing on every song. He just freestyles words that rhyme and don't make sense. His bars are trash as well.
And the general public can't understand his lyrics.
And he stole Wayne's image and style so only thing he has going for him is cross dressing for attention, dope flows and a unique voice.

nikkas acting like he didn't get a kanye co-sign as well? wasn't he modeling in the yeezy szn 2 show?

Any rapper that big has cac fans.
But that's not his what his core fanbase is, last year I heard the Slime Season tapes getting burn in the hood 24-7...Check,Bestfriend,Power were in constant rotation at kickbacks and functions, he has the same core fanbase as Future,Gucci,Migos etc..white hipsters love him too and show up at his shows but him and Travis are not in the same league. I don't know too many nikkas that bump Travis Scott and most don't even know who tf he is.

Because of his Good music and Roc nation affiliation it has opened more doors and has given him more exposure. His fan base is more diverse. Eventhough he is signed to grand hustle as a rapper that Ye and Jay cosign has done wonders.
Youtube their shows and you would see the difference in their fan bases. Thug has more of a hood and female base while Travis has more of a hypbeast white kid fan bases. So you decide who will purchase more music? That's answer.

Thug has way too many gimmicks, from the fake beef he's always stirring up, to the gay image, he's too all over the place.
