I always put my race. My thinking is that I don't want to work somewhere that they would reject me on those grounds. I got my current job by putting black on the race question. There was a time that I wouldn't put anything because it shouldn't even matter but I had a few interviews in the past where I could tell they weren't expecting a black person.

I might get less calls but like I said, if they care I'm black I don't want to work there. I will say my name is pretty race neutral and also, I got a bit of a caccent. This only made the situations where they seem shocked to see a black person a bit more jarring and obvious they had an image of someone else in mind.

i have never filled out one job application where it asked for race. people who say this sound like :duck:
either that or they are applying for a job that doesn't gaf about being sued
Uh... every job I've had has a demographics section so they can document it for Equal Employment purposes. How many job applications have you filled out and for what?
