Its amusing because people feel the need to be revolutionary and pro black when its someone else benefiting from so called "c00nery" but these are the same people who would sell their souls for a semblance of success. The nature of the beast is white people run the world, white people run media if you want to be in their club and they let you in they expect you to play by their rules, simple as that.
Its easy to say "i'll keep it real and be true to myself and my people" when you haven't tasted fame/success, its another thing when the same people who gave you that success ask you to do something that might compromise your belief system and then threaten to take away that fame/success.

I feel what you're sayin'. I'm just sayin; c00nery is a strong word.

To me; c00nery is Tyler Perry in a dress (not his whole shtick; that's not really my problem). That continues on the tradition of the emasculated black man. I'm definitely not one of the conspiracy types (that's why I don't have a strong opinion on the Dave/CC thing), but, it isn't good that Madea is such a successful character, if you want to see more Denzel (black men, who atleast play characters with dignity and depth).

On here, if you smile and too many white ppl laugh = c00nin'. Can't we have fun?

I remember Dave said something about doing a blackface sketch and one of the white staffers there was laughing 'at' him and not 'with' him in that sense, that combined with the success and money forced him to fly off to Africa. I think he lives out in Ohio somewhere too :to:

In Tyler Perry's defense he owns his image though. :yeshrug: I don't like it, but he's not exactly needing white ppl to do a film. It's sad that someone who dresses up as a women is a better businessman than the rest of these dudes.

racial humor can be and was, in chappelle's case, funny as shyt. the problem is that people start to look at it like reality, like in an all white high school with kids yellin "HOWDY nikkaR". as long as everyone realizes that its meant to provide a grave situation with levity, and not an accurate depiction of racial identity or existence, it's no problem. unfortunately, people in our present state can't handle that en masse, which has been pointed out as the reason for him (rightly) canceling the show.

so i don't agree that it was "c00nery". it was funny and irreverent and for a very brief time was able to exist in a place of clarity, until it went global, which is always what ruins purity anyway.

The Chappelle show was FARRRRR from c00nery. It was comedic-Satire

He did a brilliant job at educating people who didn't give a f*ck about education by playing into the negative sh*t that they did care about. Chris Rock tells a lot of socially aware jokes too, but wasn't as successful with a younger audience as Dave was because of the way he approached it. Dave went "crazy" because he was reaching a wide audience and slowly, but surely forcing them to ask questions they wouldn't normally ask. Like the famous saying goes: it's not the people inside the church who needs saving. If he would have been doing the things he was doing without actually dropping jewels THEN it would have been c00nery, but there was clearly a method to his madness. Dave is FARRRR from crazy; he knew exactly what he was doing, but when the powers that be caught on to what he was doing that's when sh*t got "crazy", You don't get offered 50mil without having some very powerful people interested in you. If you watch some of his interviews post-Chappelle show when he talks about "crossing an economic threshold" and things of that nature you can read between the lines.

Inside The Actors Studio - Dave Chappelle - YouTube

These posts are on point.

I see that the inside the actors studio interview was posted. This video shows the highlights of it

All you people saying he went "crazy" need to watch this.

Some of those skits are just downright wrong imo.... Racist white people laugh at them and think it's okay because a black dude wrote the skit. I don't think that was Dave's intention. :ld:
Name 'em...
Black Bush and keeping it real goes wrong.

You want me to give you a little soft shoe.......

Black Bush is what some call; intelicual comedy. It asked the question; why was Bush able to get away with the stuff he did...what if he was black, in America?

You'll have to explain why you think that about the "When keepin' it real."

If you watch some of his interviews post-Chappelle show when he talks about "crossing an economic threshold" and things of that nature you can read between the lines.

No need to "read between the lines"--that's where all the Illuminati videos come from--a powerful instituion was tryin' to protect it's rep, by sayin; You'd have to be crazy not to want to be down.

In Tyler Perry's defense he owns his image though. :yeshrug: I don't like it, but he's not exactly needing white ppl to do a film. It's sad that someone who dresses up as a women is a better businessman than the rest of these dudes.
Yea, cuz he just forced himself onto Ted Turner's network.

Yea, he could still be successful doin' plays, but, he wouldn't be as successful as he is.

My real point is; c00nin' = holding black people down/back ≠ black people havin' fun and white ppl not feelin' uncomfortable

when keeping it real goes wrong...

ya coz white people dont know what satire and comedy is. :snoop: this thread needs to be thrown in the bushes

We sure know what you look like............:ld:

He clearly meant..racist white people...which we have alot of in this world...and even if some white ppl knew it was satire...that still wouldn't stop them from viewing Dave's show as some sort of extension to black ppl..........

Some white folks aren't around any black ppl......other than BET

Its funny how naive white ppl can be...

The 215
 are there that many Black TV shows that do not or did not have anyform of c00nery involved? If so i would enjoy a list so i can watch them.
Comments like this always sound good and I'm not dissing you either. People always say this then when there are shows with no "c00ning" blacks don't watch the shyt and or break it down like they are fukking Spike Lee and the shyt flops. I also have a problem with the whole "c00ning" thing too. To me it justs black people feeling insecure about how white and other races are viewing us. I don't give a shyt how they look at me fukk em and if they and anybody else can't take shows as just entertainment or trying to use that as a way to judge us as a people why the fukk do we care what that type of person thinks anyway? I understand we can have more diverse stuff for us but we have to support it too not just whine then don't support stuff when it comes out.

That's why he left the show in the first place. He realized racists were the ones getting the last laugh and that was not how he wanted it to be. It was awesome while it lasted. I will always respect him for realizing what was really going on and not allowing them to take his dignity.

Here's my outlook, on that;

Geoff Brown, a comedian, has an interesting quote; (I'm loosely quoting)...a nation is only as storng as it's secrets...black people have no secrets

No thing I notice about "black" shows is; it's always on some documentary tip

Like, they're teachin you want black people are, so comes the pressure to get it right and appease the grand scale of blacks

It's a theory I'm still workin' on, but, it can't be good that ppl think they know black ppl, because, they have BET or listen rap music or a have a black friend
