The show was funny. White people are saying these racist things regardless of the Dave Chapelle show. c00ning is when you make fun of blacks to appease whites. I don't think that was his intention.

Yall take it too serious. Once yall understand that we are individuals and are responsible for are own public perception, this won't bother you as much.
He was actually making fun of a lot of stereotypes and white beliefs about black people. Shyt was funny to me.
He didn't expect the show to get so big. He didn't realize his demographics (viewers) would have so many white people. And this is when he became conscientious. A poster said it earlier... he wanted to create a show where everybody could laugh, not one where one particular group was being laughed at. But it wasn't c00nery. It was a play on c00nery... meaning that he confronted the stereotypes on his show in a comedic way.

I think everyone figured that out with the first episode and the black white supremacist.
I always hated that skit; I never found it that funny. I always shake my head whenever a white person tells me that was their favorite skit. Besides the 'c00nery', Chappelle gave us some of the best comedy sketches we've ever seen and it spawned all those other comedians shows on Comedy Central.

Well I fukked with the show too and think Chappelle is a comedic genius. I'm not afraid to admit the same thing Dave himself will admit to and when he realized this he shut the shyt down. I went to a majority white college during the time Chappelle had just started airing and I remember being the only black dude in class hearing people laugh about some of the skits like "things black people like" and the "slavery reparations" skits. shyt was mad uncomfortable.
It's funny though because these same people so outraged in here would call Tyler Perry a c00n in a second and say he makes us look bad. Why is that though? You may not like the urban/black based topics but Tyler Perry has had successful black people in plenty of his movies. Just an observation though.

Tyler Perry is just corny to me... although I do like his more serious movies.
But he doesn't make us look bad. He's actually a trendsetter, keeps blacks employed in his movies, and calls his own shots. How can you not respect that?

Key and Peele are corny so they are called c00nery but since Chappelle was more entertaining he isn't. It's like the ugly rich nikka with a dime piece wife.
