Some episodes were definitely c00nery some were just satire that actually highlights ignorance sent toward black people.

The black white supremacist actually makes fun of how ridiculous white supremacist can be.
The Real World episode showed how reality shows kinda put black people in an extreme situation which makes the black person look like the crazy ones.
The court episode was good because it shows the way black and white people are treated completed different in the judicial system

There were a bunch of episodes that were just jokes though, no c00nery involved so overall I ain't that mad at the show.

The Reparations episode was funny to me but it was extreme c00nery. :snoop:

Well I fukked with the show too and think Chappelle is a comedic genius. I'm not afraid to admit the same thing Dave himself will admit to and when he realized this he shut the shyt down. I went to a majority white college during the time Chappelle had just started airing and I remember being the only black dude in class hearing people laugh about some of the skits like "things black people like" and the "slavery reparations" skits. shyt was mad uncomfortable.

It's funny though because these same people so outraged in here would call Tyler Perry a c00n in a second and say he makes us look bad. Why is that though? You may not like the urban/black based topics but Tyler Perry has had successful black people in plenty of his movies. Just an observation though. :manny:

Are you ashamed to be black?

And I ask that question in all seriousness. Why would you give a shyt if people(doesn't matter the race) was laughing at something comedic? I mean can white people only laugh at white people jokes? Can blacks only laugh at black people jokes? Oh sensitive as nikkas in here. but but but whitey was laughing. Who gives a shyt, they were laughing because the shyt was funny, not because it was about black people. EVERYONE I know no matter the race laughed at the Chappelle show in its entirety and not just the the skits about black people.

And "c00n" needs to be banned from this forum until everyone is educated on just what it means.

Oh and this is a horrible fukking thread with some of the worst post I have ever read in my messageboard history. The lot of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Man shut the fukk up. As a black person, the shyt is open for discussion. I myself said the shyt was funny you dumb muthafukka. Do you know that DAVE HIMSELF quit the show and left 50 million dollars when he realized himself what I am saying?? You even black dude? Don't question my ethnicity and what I feel about my race. I'm sure you are white though because ya'll be the main ones getting offended if anything but praise is given to Chappelle.

"There was a good-spirited intention behind it," Dave says. "So then when I'm on the set, and we're finally taping the sketch, somebody on the set [who] was white laughed in such a way—I know the difference of people laughing with me and people laughing at me—and it was the first time I had ever gotten a laugh that I was uncomfortable with. Not just uncomfortable, but like, should I fire this person?"

After this incident, Dave began thinking about the message he was sending to millions of viewers. Dave says some people understood exactly what he was trying to say with his racially charged comedy...while others got the wrong idea.

"That concerned me," he says. "I don't want black people to be disappointed in me for putting that [message] out there. ... It's a complete moral dilemma."

No, I am what you call a secure black man that isn't worried about what my perception is to anyone else. You wouldn't read any shyt from me talking about I'm feeling some sort of way based on some white people laughing at some comedy about black people. Oh crying in the inside ass nikka. Don't come with that tough talk now, when you bytched up in your class and kept quiet when you were obviously offended at some white kids laughing at the show. Why didn't you say something then? And I'm not the one questioning my own ethnicity here.

And you are talking what Chappelle said and running your own agenda with it. Either way the shyt was c00ning, but you all are so worried about whitey thinks about you that you feel like you have to jump on top of something first and call it c00ning to make yourself feel better about it. Like "look at us, we don't condone this shyt" shyt is despicable.

nikka how you know what the fukk I said first and foremost. Secondly, c00nery is c00nery breh. I don't give a fukk what white people think and I watched the show myself. Third, thank you for confirming the truth.

Black Bush is what some call; intelicual comedy. It asked the question; why was Bush able to get away with the stuff he did...what if he was black, in America?

You'll have to explain why you think that about the "When keepin' it real."

I'm calling them classic, what are you talking about?

Smh you nikkas quick to run with this "oh you aren't black because you don't agree with me" bullshyt. So because I don't give a fukk about whitey and what our public perception of us are to them, then that makes me not black. Yea that makes fukking sense.

And don't front now, you didn't say shyt in class, if you did you would have put that in the post, no, what you did instead was bytch up and curl into a fetal position.

You keep up the good fight, and continue the fight to go out there and put on your best impressions for whitey so that they don't laugh at us, I on the other hand will be who I am and not give a shyt what anyone of any race thinks about me. I control my own perception that can't be changed by anyone or anything but me.

Now respond with another post about how I'm not black since I pulled your "insecure negro" card.

I grew up in the deep south and have busted white boys in their fukking face for saying some slick shyt to me. You mad because I pointed out the obvious about the Chappelle show? And I control my own perception by being a college graduate, having a good job, and everything else I do so I could give a fukk. The show is what it is and I didn't protest it or encourage anyone to stop watching it but it doesn't matter who was watching it, white black, PR's Mexicans etc, the show had some bad stereotypes in there that were sometimes cringe worthy. Stop trying to act like I wanted to start a revolt and picket Comedy Central for the shyt because it isn't that serious. And I think you're either white or the type of nikka who only fukks with white girls because of how angry you came in this thread. Ol why do you care if something puts blacks in a bad light. Geez, I don't know maybe because I'm black and it is a point of discussion in our community. You'd be the type to clown someone for getting mad if they got called the n word and not be mad that the person called them a ******. fukked up breh.

People are so scared of the truth that its sad. It's like folk don't want to admit that it was a modern day minstrel show because they liked it or thought that it was funny. Yes, there was a lot of "c00ning" involved with the show. For an example, look at the skit about the black version of the real world. Now even though many of you obviously thought that it was funny, you'd be lying to yourselves if you didn't admit that it damn near perpetuates every negative stereotype imaginable about blacks. That is true for a lot of those skits. Chappelle even came out and told you that he came to realization that he was c00ning and that's why he fell back. Stop running from the truth people.

Yeah, they are mad as shyt and saying this thread is horrible. Dave Chappelle would have prolly made this thread himself. Yes he is funny, yes the show was funny and yes it was a display of c00nery. But the truth hurts. :manny:

One day you are busting white boys in the face and the next day you are crying silently to yourself in class over some kids laughing at comedy. Yea foh with that bullshyt and the tough talk now. nikkas so tough yet so worried about what others are laughing at.

And quit trying to stereotype me because you are so far off base I am questioning your college degree. You don't understand me because you aren't as comfortable in your black skin as I am, which is why my take sounds so foreign to you.

And I don't fukk with white girls period, check my posting history, you wouldn't find me praising any of these awful pawg threads that are posted here all to often. And the n word is something vastly different from what we are discussing now so please quit the the exaggerations in order to try and prove a point.

Maybe its a point of discussion with the people you run with, or the people in your community, but around my parts we don't give a shyt what anyones perception of us is especially if it isn't based on ourselves. We will make moves forward regardless. fukk I look link cringing based on what someone else is doing. What I find cringing is the fact some of you are so embarrassed by others doing and worry about what the people at school/work will think of you because of it. Like you don't have your own merits, and as if these people weren't harboring those thoughts before they were put on public display.

I find this thread more offensive than anything that was on the Chappelle show.
