I usually take it to mean that the person had a better option at some point and for whatever reason they blew it.

And so they decide to just settle for a "worse" option when their heart really desires the better option.

Like you wanted to go to club A but you got banned, so you just stay at club B.

Or you dream of going to club A, but you can't get in, so it's the only reason you're at club B.

You'll start resenting club B and the moment club A let's you in, you're running in there.

I don’t think it’s that simple. Nobody stops wanting somebody out of the blue.

The same reasons dudes lose attraction to their wives applies to husbands too. Usually people getting taken for granted and poor communication is to blame.
