Did you even read what i said?

If we're judging mc's then obviously writing your own lyrics matter

If we are judging how good a song is it doesnt matter who wrote it

Two completely different things bro
i swear this point is going over peoples heads. the whole argument is you can't be a top mc if you not writing. how hard is this for nikkas to understand :snoop:

The entire genre turned into Drake groupies. The same people who would have shytted on you 2-3 years ago are silent as fukk. People are afraid to speak up and speak out. It's sad as hell. Even the so called journalist of hip hop have remained silent.

This is probably the biggest story in hip hop and nobody will touch on it honestly.

Cube said "I don't think it ever mattered in record making"

So what is dead now? This discussion only new to new hip hop fans.

thats politically correct for him.. Being as tho he wrote for others in NWA. He's not gonna tarnish his brothers (Dre and Eazy)

but, in his heart, he agrees with the REAL hip hop purists.. WRITE YOUR OWN SHYT.

Drake and QM ouchea on some Ventriloquist shyt..

Of course Ghostwriting has always been around and nikkaz writing others rap has been done. That's not the issue.

The issue is wanting to respected as an MC when you don't write your shyt. Obviously Aubrey wants that respect but now he won't get that. While it doesn't make him any less successful, he has lost respect in many cats eyes.

Del wrote for Cube too:mjpls:, Cube is the wrong brotha to ask about this

Del flat out denied he wrote for Cube. Laughed at the notion because Cube taught him how to rap.

Del the Funky Homosapien Recalls the Past, Skips Nostalgia

"It's not like Cube or Yo-Yo needed me to write lyrics as a ghost writer, but they invited me into the mix. We all helped out."

He said there would be a bunch of them in a room together, and if someone came up with the basis for a hook or a line it would be worked on.

As far as the Cube quote, and this goes for 50 Cent too....

These little soundbite interviews need to be expanded on. Because Cube obviously feels a certain way about authenticity in relation to having a ghostwriter, which is what he was saying. But instead of asking him to go into depth, they moved onto the next person.

The same with 50. He got asked about this, he said "ok, if ghostwriting is bad then you gotta erase Puffy and Dr. Dre"....which is a valid point except nobody pointed out that Drake never put himself in the Puff/Dre category. Again, they should've asked him to elaborate.

Instead of asking "does it matter" they need to ask "can a rapper be taken seriously as a GOAT contender and/or known for his pen game if he didn't write the lyrics?"....which is what I've been saying since last week. Obviously ghostwriting doesn't matter, if it did I would've never given Eazy-E a chance.

Been saying this since the beginning, Ghostwriting has always been a part of Music. How in the hell do y'all think rap is any different? Y'all so called purist are relying on a false and very flawed narrative.

Tell us what we already know brehs:why:

Cube said enuff to not get himself knocked out if my top 3:whew:

He ghostwrote most of Eazy album,of course it didnt matter....and it didnt matter to nikkas listening to Eazy E,im still a fan....but the extra points Cubes talkin about is what puts you in proper perspective as an emcee....does it not even matter to yall how much Drake writes?

lets say he only writes 50% of his songs and 30% of his hits?it doesnt matter:mindblown:

Ghostwriting never mattered in record making

It dont matter if none dude wrote a song or if 5 wrote it together, that doesnt change how good the song is

Q miller writing rico and 10 bands doesnt make the songs any worse

Using ghostwriters does matter if were talking about how good of a rapper you are though

Cube is right

I haven't seen ANYBODY say that ghostwriting is uncommon.

That's Drake stans trying to point the finger at everybody else because he got caught with another mans hand up his ass all while trying to gain credibility as a EMCEE.

Any of the supposed "flat top" "real heads" blah blah blah know what the deal is. Ghostwriting has been around from the JUMP, and so has been separating the wheat from the chaff when we start talking about who are the GREAT EMCEES in this culture.

Drake is now exempt from that conversation. Meep was except whether he uses ghost writers or not.

And as much as I love Cube he's been a sell out, not expecting him to switch it up now especially on a promo run involving the history on a group where it was mostly 2 people penning everybodies rhymes...he'd essentially be saying "fukk them, I deserve all the credit" to 2/3 of everybody involved :heh:

Taking series by who? Seen as GOAT by who?

There is no consensus on anything in rap

Why would someone else care about who YOU took serius?

:laff: all these people trying to qualify Cube comments

When last week you dymbasses were telling me the #1 unwritten rule/ forbidden fruit was having someone else write your rhymes.

Back when rap was "real" you would Get kicked out of the culture if someone didn't write

Now all I see is a bu bu bu cube really meant this...:rudy:

Because he probably wrote his deepest, personal shyt.

But if it's a track like "California Love" I wouldn't be surprised if he had a CO-WRITER... Still doesn't take away from no one else being able to make that song as dope or as lit as Pac did.

And I'm not saying anyone assisted on that btw but Yall really need to check the writing credits on some tracks or do your googles. A lot of shyt is hearsay because it's just not talked about, it's understood or if people admitted to doing it/having it done.

That's like asking who added synths/percussion to a classic beat. Kanye might've made it but brought in Mike Will for a different sound... Still doesn't mean Ye not a great producer

These nikkas retarded breh, there probably no artist out there that has not had a track co-written

You related to Aubrey or somethin?

Dre, Easy, Kanye, others have had mufukkaz writing for them. This has always been known. But they aren't seen as great MCs either even though they may have great/classic albums and material.

This is classic deflection tactics.

They aren't seen as Great MCs by who?

You know how many people think Kanye is the greatest rapper ever and how can you disagree because nothing you can say will change that opinion
