You cool but you sounding just like these stupid nikkas. How has not listening to trap improved your life? Maybe if cats that were on yalls vibe was as a whole doing financially better or something that cats could see y'all might have a point but y'all cats live right with those who listen to the "bad" music so what are y'all doing. Also I really wish cats would stop with the bogus y'all switch up stuff. How bout the people like me who don't switch it up? Guess people like me don't fit yalls little easy narrative
:snoop:You are making a fatal mistake. "I didn't turn out bad, so clearly nothing is wrong." Great majority of us didn't. But the flip is we recognize the effects of media programming
elsewhere, and folks act like the culture itself didn't push afrocentricity and self-love at one point, making a measurable dent in how blacks in society viewed things IN society.
Mind you, the music was on the radio, before net culture. The positive music came to us. We didn't even have to seek it. It was pushed.

Now I don't wanna argue all the other shyt, I am just bemused by the fact that everything else gets due credit for programming us to accept certain things as the norm, changing
expectations, and making us question our inhibitions, yet Hip Hop has this golden fence of "Nah, yall bugging" when anyone asks about it.

See a movie with a gay character? Gay agenda. Hear a couple dozen songs that advocate black genocide and drug trafficking? It's just music. Both mediums represent a valid
POV of someone living, but the measure of criticism is directly proportional to how much someone likes what they watch or hear. Bottom line, are any dudes in here willing to
let their child listen to and watch copious videos of the shyt we tend to enjoy? Don't catch feelings on this subject cause I really only meant to be in here for a second, but you can't
question other programming and then put a halo on the hip hop garbage being peddled nowadays. Can't have it both ways.

Nah I'm not making a fatal anything y'all are. If y'all are so enlightened because of lack of music why don't most of yalls lives reflect it in any $$$ way? I'm also not about to be the scapegoat for weak nikkas so y'all can do the whole "just because you made it" bullshyt you trying to pull. No matter what my dude everybody ain't going to make it so y'all blaming it on music is stupid. If it wasn't music it would be something else and like I said I can't take people in the same position as me or worse seriously on some yall should do this to better yourself. Think about it would you take money making tips from a homeless person?

I don't say that programming stuff you kicking with regards to rap or anything so what can you say to me? That was my whole flipping point. I'm not having it both ways because the same way I feel about this subject I feel on anything similar. I've never been on the coli with that they programming people flow. You can't use that y'all say programming any other time to me cause that isn't my vibe. That's what I asked you because that's the convenient thing cats like to say.

Maybe we just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

We talking about the same thing. I just don't think you have an answer for people like me. That stuff you mentioned as examples I've never said. I'm not on the gay agenda or any other agenda. Therefore your you can't have it both ways stance doesn't apply to me.

I was basically asking you now what when somebody doesn't fit that easy narrative. If you have no answer it's cool

Not really man.

His point of view consists of "America is racist and very fukked up" and that's the extent of it. Throw some easy listening lounge beats over that, and you've got half of his latest album. Not kidding either, 6 tracks out of 12 might as well be the same song. It's very pedestrian, but as I said before, it'll get a pass because it has a "message" despite that message being something any cognitive minority can pick up just from walking outside of their front door.

This is why I tend to appreciate rappers like Lupe Fiasco.

He could've taken the easy way out and made a 3-4 minute song about how "the prison is fukked up ya'll," but instead, not only does he weave in the corruption and racial profiling of the penal system across the country while simultaneously telling a story of a prisoner's incarceration and subsequent escape, he uses the second part of this song to expand on the parallels of both guard and criminal with how they're confined to the same cells during a correctional officer's shift while tensions between both parties rise.

There's so much more to be explored, that's why I'm not easily swayed by plain efforts. I don'tdoubt he'll eventually get better at his craft, but right now....it's just aiight.

And yet Lupe sells fractions less than Jcole.

That should tell you something
