I don't get how you can say he has skill but his discography is ass
If his discography is ass then where did he display his skill?![]()
Lmaoo op delusional
Any top 5 has to at least include Em, Nas, Pac, Big.
The 5th person could be about 20 different rappers depending on preference.
Lmaoo and Redman had awesome subject matter?! You've lost it.If Em is top 5 at least that means out of;
Rakim
Cube
Mos
Chuck D
Scarface
Andre
G Rap
Ras Kass
Redman
........Only 1 of them would round out the top 5.......even tho every 1 of these nikkas is leagues ahead of him, many he even conceded were better on Til I Collapse
Comments and sentiments like these make me understand why South, Mid / West brehs get so upset at the over praising of technical lyricism. What u say comes 1st HOW u say it comes 2nd. Em will get called lyrical just cuz hes slick on the technical side but his subject matter and substance isof
the highest ( lowest?) order. Dude music has no soul, like at all completely shallow in every facet of the word
Can y'all name 20 rappers with 3 classics![]()
nikkas don't know what a "classic" means.
Redman has 1 at best thats a classic..
This guy is so overrated Man lol
and his music has aged horribly. go listen to that slim shady junk now and you'd probably laugh at yourself for liking such corny, gimmicky music.
dude dope as a MC but his catalog is do-do. he a true product of the machine. he dont got any classic albums. so if you got EM in your top5, then hand us that card and exit left swiftly.
Lmaoo and Redman had awesome subject matter?! You've lost it.
Wait, what?
Yeah, the one major criticism I see here is that from a musical standpoint, Eminem isn't at the level of many other rappers. I maintain that his early beats when he was doing a couple songs on an album were dope. He wasn't Premier or Kanye-level, but he wasn't as awful as people make it seem. "The Way I Am," "Renegade," "'Til I Collapse," "Cleanin' Out My Closet," "Lose Yourself," "The Cross," "Mosh," "Like Toy Soldiers." Those were all good, and three of them ("'Til I Collapse," "Lose Yourself," "Like Toy Soldiers") are classic IMO. The problem is Eminem only knows one kind of sound as a producer, and if you're going to make dope beats, you have to have a big musical IQ. It got to the point where his beats sound one dimensional, and he comes off as the kind of person that really needs to be sat down and talked to about his music.
I don't know why he doesn't work with the Bass Brothers anymore, or get Dre to do more beats for him. Or consult any of these legendary producers to give him something.
I meant Recovery, my bad.
Absolutely.if Redman only has 1 then Em has NOTHING even approaching a classic. it's widely accepted that Red has 3 classics and one of the best 3 album runs in Hip Hop history.
