if it weren't for Puffy, would Biggie be anything?

what hit do people always reference, go to or play when it comes to craig mack, bruh :comeon:

so what?

thats his biggest hit. not his only one.

4 hits?

Flava and the remix count as two, I guess... Get Down was kinda a hit...

What else?

That album run definitely wasn't bigger than Redman at his peak... Flava got him off to a big start, but it was over as time went on. He was to the back after that song cooled off.

jockin my style.

as for the second part, thats fair enough. but surely you see my point.

:usure::comeon: only hot for "a minute" ....nikka that album went gold and spawned a platinum single and had a hit music video/remix. that album and the single along with it are still considered somewhat of a classic to this day. people were waitin for new shyt to come out. why u think people were so upset that craig fukked up at bad boy and left

Jockin' My Style was absolutely not a hit breh.

It got played on Rap City regularly, but that's about as far as it goes.

why are black rob & g.dep adored on here, while craig mack gets clowned?

he had a better run than both of them. black rob was INDEED a one-hit wonder. but nobody tags him with that. instead, yall tag craig mack as such when he has nearly a handful of joints.

I really dont understand the people that post on this site sometimes. nikkas hate on Pac, Big, Jay, Nas, claim the south is wack, claim New York is flabby, claim the west is irrelevant, and think all modern hip hop is corny. Every legend gets their legacy questioned and torn down on a weekly basis. What do yall dudes listen to then?:dwillhuh:

This. It can be argued BIG wouldn't have gotten the attention/career he did without Puff, but BIG gave Puff credibility as a figure in hip-hop. If BIG never existed, or he never met him, and Puff's first foray into rap was that shiny suit poppy player shyt, he would've gotten tossed out the rap game sideways.

All I'm going to say on the Craig situation is this. Puffy and Biggie are to blame for what happen to Craig Mack. He should of had a better career. "Flava In Ya Ear" is the song that put Bad Boy on the map. Not "Juicy or Big Poppa" though they were huge. It was "Flava" that set this ish off. Some could argue "Dolly my Baby Remix" but that was Supa Kat's track. "Flava" put Bad Boy on the map.

It was Puff's fault. Once he knew Biggie was the star he completely abadoned Craig Mack. Biggie also didn't have a strong relationship with him though they were cool. I only said it was Big's fault too but it wasn't what he did personally to craig it was the fact he was so good he just outshinned craig to the point Puffy just made Biggie his top priority. I mean it was weird, after "Flava Remix" it was like Biggie was truely the Star. It was crazy. As for this track, that's was not the reason Puffy kicked craig to the crub. Let's keep it 100. Craig Mack's 2nd album should of been apart of Bad Boys Mega 1997 year. If you think about it, Ma$e took Craig's spot.
