Yeah, I hate the whole check ordeal when you are with a group, I try to avoid those kinds of parties/gatherings, such a ineffective nightmare, that turns a simple thing into a display of all kinds of insecurities/posturing/cheapness/belligerence, just all types of nonsense. Grandstanding and gallantry to the extreme. I'll the pay bill! No, I can't let you!
Went to a party earlier this month like that, for a girlfriend, and at some point, I was just flirting with a girlfriend of hers who I go out with sometimes, in the corner, and two women I don't know at all, asked me, "So, people are wanting to leave, what are we doing about the bill?"
and her whole tone to me suggested she wanted me to chip in, or was worried about it, and I tried to be really polite, and just said if you need any money, just ask me, I have plenty of cash on me lol and she looked at me crazy. I guess she meant how should THEY pay their bill, but why are you asking me?
ended up with the birthday girl belligerent drunk and ranting about putting it all on her card, despite the pile of cash she had been given, so I quickly counted it, paid the bill, so dumb. shyt was only $600.
