This always sounded like a woman issue more than a man issue. I've never hang out and had conversations about how we're splitting the bill. It's a given that everyone pays for their own stuff unless it's a celebration, you owe someone, lost a bet, etc. I think it's because most men aren't used to being on the receiving end of things, so we don't really assume someone else is going to cover our tab.

Payment situation was so easier to deal with when it came to groups off men versus groups off women

If I go out to a restaurant to spend $50, and I order $50 worth of food and drinks, then I'm going to pay $50 + tip/gratuity.

Why would anyone do an even split without agreeing to it as a group first?

But on some real, that's actually not something to clown people for. Not in this day and age, with this economy, as Black people living in this society. But I'll give you a "haha" just because I kinda get what you mean from my own experience.
