tuesday lol. bday party of 10, didn't even have to ask. they just brought it out seperate.
then i recall a bday party at del monico steakhouse in vegas. the waiter specifically asked us how we wanted to pay ... some people paid in couples and the others were seperate
and the world didn't end!but i'm pretty sure the kitchen gets each persons items on a seperate tickets so it's not rocket science to keep the orders seperate.
and yall can cut the "real nice restaurant" schtick out. the same people are quoting $50-60 totals. that's average
i had a $150 lunch today and i wouldn't even consider it a "upscale"

sure they can do whatever they want and i won't complain either way. plus i pretty much know how to get my way if i wanted to. the last time the waiter said "1 bill
", i just talked to him on the side and said hey, i order a lot of drinks for everybody so just go ahead and make mine seperate and i'll take care of you. he did 
but yeah they can do what they want, but the goofy thing is people judging other people for not wanting to. weird flex but ok

Coworkers = we each got corporate AMEX cards so the most senior person on the squad picks up the bill and let's the company reimburse them.
Friends = sometimes separate checks and sometimes we pay for each other. No one keeps track

Lol I used to bartend. Typically, the server rings in each meal/drink under the person who ordered it by where they are sitting. That way when the food/drink is ready, the person running the item knows exactly where it goes and isn’t at the table auctioning it off( asking who had the ribeye medium with roasted veggies, who got the margarita)
This also makes splitting the bill by person extremely easy, not some arduous, laborious task you all are making it out to be.
Discrepancies between splitting a bill per person vs per order is usually more than 20 and I’m not comfortable asking someone to subsidize my portion nor am I in the business of throwing away money as a responsible single father.

I live in Vegas. I’ve been to some of the highest end restaurants n they ask how ppl wanna pay. I guess I only hang with adults who want to pay their own way. Plus nikkas too grown n busy to go out all the time so ain’t much of this “ we go out all the time n I know someone will pay the whole tab next time.” When u aren’t a woman going out to eat every week “next time” pwith they fellas might be 8 months. Depending what states nikkas In.
The Coli is funny. We’ve had threads talking about how expensive things are and how much money people aren’t making, but then have a thread like this where people come in and talk about broke bois who don’t want to split a bill evenly because they didn’t order the same as everyone else.

I'm more of a split the bill kinda diner, but I wouldn't dare sit up in a thread online and stick my nose in the air to shame other Black people who would rather pay for what they ordered, let alone outright call them "broke" and try to demean them. Mofos like @dora_da_destroyer and @Ed MOTHERfukkING G , amongst others, sound completely out of touch with reality and with the Black community...except the part of the Black community that lives to "stunt/show" off on other Black people. They're very in touch with that aspect of being Black in 2023. Makes it even more cringe that their fake bougie asses are just a few unexpected expenses away from being a bill splitter themselves. Imagine someone who is rich like JayZ reading their fake bougie ass replies in here lmao. They dont realize, everybody's a "broke boy" to somebody. If they're not pulling in over 7 figures annually they need to refrain from being in here with their asses on their shoulders thumbing their noses at people and calling them "broke boys". I’m actually no where near a few unexpected expenses away from being a bill splitter. And sorry you feel some type of way about us advocating for equal splits when people generally had the same amount of food and drink.
