I’m actually no where near a few unexpected expenses away from being a bill splitter. And sorry you feel some type of way about us advocating for equal splits when people generally had the same amount of food and drink. Nope, an extra $20 on my bill ain’t killing me and me and my friends give freely to each other, none of us is ever gonna be mad they paid a little more on a day/night out with each other. 6+ people dinning out there is bound to be a discrepancy greater than 20. I respect your preference for splitting evenly but looking down on those who choose to pay what they ordered is odd

If I’m out with my people we usually fight for the bill to get the points. Usually 6-8 people. The person who gets the points is in charge of breaking the bill down. We all text that person what we got and we transfer what we owe. Usually takes a week.

If I'm by myself, and I'm out with a bunch of couples, I ain't splitting, because I didn't consume enough to make that fair. If I'm out with my wife and kids, and two of my single friends are there, I wouldn't expect them to split. If I have an appetizer, and you have lobster, don't ask me to split. These should be obvious, and simple rules of friendship.
