Major loss. They started the season 12-3, and finished 3-3 in their last 6 games, looking shaky in wins and somehow worse than that in losses...
They have an elite head coach who has now habitually shown he wilts when he's in that pressure cooker. They're 2nd year QB may still have a bright future but you saw him choking that second half, he's not good enough at this point to put the game on his shoulders...
The defense played their best game tonight in well over a month, but the reality is the last month and a half have proven they were overrated. A lot of big names who couldn't stand up to elite QB play over and over and over again, and yet most if the season we were told this was a potentially All-Time defense. They definitely not that...
I don't know how they bounce back from this with the NFC getting stronger and losing to the same team in both SB runs...

Name 5 QBs that can hit the check down better than that man. Let’s not get crazy. You pay talent like that every time and figure out the rest later.
It's reminiscent of Reid's time in Philly that then extended into his KC tenure until he got 15. The Eli/Flacco/Foles runs aren't impossible but they're the exception not the rule, you typically don't get over the hump until you get that difference maker at QB. Purdy's solid with good instincts but we all watched the games - he's a small QB with a weak arm that did everything in his power to lose vs GB/DET and was just floundering through tonight's game when SF had 3 quarters to put it away.
Kyle took his shot with Lance, it didn't work and Purdy was a convenient alternative that they fell into - but we all know what the elephant in the room is gonna be moving forward.
