When you make the offs, especially a mid level team like the Nats you HAVE to do everything possible to win for two reasons, one you might not make it back for a while, and two anyone can win in baseball. Now Im not saying trade a top prospect for merely decent hitter to try to go for it but you already have Strasburg, youre not really putting him at THAT much risk having him pitch to 182 or whatever the projection was plus some playoff games. Like the odds would still be low that that would be the reason he gets hurt. So how the fucck do you not stop the innings limit. I mean we arent talking Mark Prior, he wont pitch 210 innings plus playoffs. Hes gonna pitch 30 innings less basically. You have to take this opportunity. If Stras is winning 20 games but they aint making the offs so its wasted for the next 3-4 years theyll regret not going for it
Actually the idea they arent going for it is pretty ridiculous when you think about it. Its putting way too much stock in something completely unproven
