But the different servers. The idea of servers themselves. It's a lot to ask for the majority of people, let alone social media users. It's the main reason why it didn't pick up like expected and people went to post or mastadon.

I'm glad they're making it simpler but it already has the reputation of being unnecessarily obtuse.

So even if they were all unique views, not even 10% of the world saw the most popular tweet of all-time

very few people struggle to understand the concept of email, mastodon is really no different. if email worked like other social media networks, it would be terrible. but with decentralized protocols, it's possible for mastodon users to communicate with pixelfed(instagram alternative) users. it would be like if twitter users could quote and reply to instagram posts.
