Good point that they are related, But ask yourself honestly last year who dug the hole for the eagles most of the time last year... the offense or the defense..
you know what, The offense was the bigger problem last year rather than the defense .... there were times when the defense was decent but the offense was stagnant either they would turn the ball over or they would go three and out. Putting way too much pressure on the defense
If the defense is constantly out there, they are eventually going to get exposed and give up big plays due to fatigue or the opposing offense getting entirely too comfortable with what the Eagles defense is throwing at them.
Well. In retrospect, the offense was a mess and the play calling needed to be a lot more efficient to compensate for the holes in the Offensive line.
I am in no way saying that Vick needs to throw the ball 40 plust times a game, because he is not that type of QB and quite frankly, he shouldn't have to with a RB like McCoy.
But what I am saying is that Vick's unique skillset is too good, even at 33, to just throw in the bushes. He can make a lot of throws, but the offense has to be less timing and patience and more dinking and dunking if Vick is gonna be utilized to the fullest. You'll get the ball out of his hands faster and he can stay upright and still show the threat of scampering for a quick 7 yards...He is hard to defend.
It almost seems like they went for the big play on every play last year...Don't know if that was Reid or Mornhinweg who was the cause of that.
So yeah, I guess you're right in that regard that the O did put a lot of pressure on the D in good number of those games because I do recall a lot of mindblowing 3 and outs or a play or two each game where there was some type of break down in communication on offense.....
