According to the US government, 11.4% of the American population are living in poverty. Income and Poverty in the United States: 2020
That's 38 million people... Brazilian levels of inequality.
Surely, it can't be all their fault that they're poor? There's some serious structural issues in the USA.
If a person has a debilitating disease and can’t hold a job due to it, is it that person’s fault?
If a person has the intelligence, but was never taught how to manage money and doesn’t have access to education on finances, is it that person’s fault?
If someone is stuck in a small town with no opportunities and can’t leave because they have family obligations, is it that person’s fault?
Blanket statements like this are pointless. There are too many variables that make it untrue.
