More seriously, what is better: a minimum number of sets with a lot of reps or a maximum number of sets with a low number of reps?

Overall volume matters more.

E.g.

3 sets 12 reps and 12 sets 3 reps have the same amount of volume.

Lower rep ranges though tend to affect CNS more ...

Higher rep ranges are more endurance and structural changes.

I might be wrong though :hubie:

Fresh off this bid I was banging out 100 in about a minute and a half per set, taking a 2-4 min break then doing another set afterwards until I get to 1000. Used to take about an hour. :blessed:





But that's when I was just doing push ups alone. Normally I'm circuit training / super setting with that 100 a set routine mixed in with weight work.

I'm a lazy skinny nikka as far as health. Just started trying to do something with myself.

It's been 4 weeks. Every other day I do 3 sets of as many push-ups as I can do without bytching out.

Started at about 3 sets of 15. At 30ish now.

Within a couple weeks I'm apparently going to be on point.


It only takes about 6 weeks to get to 100.
