My thing is.. they’ll sometimes put you through 200 million interviews without any intention of hiring you.....

Yeah exactly that.

If they say to me that we really like you and are thinking about making you a job offer, just come to the office as we would like to talk about xyz then no problem,I would go and see them.

But if they going to invite me in again to ask me the same things that I have already answered then its like what's even the point?

Just Zoom call me my nikka.

Honestly 3 interviews is on the low end for high paying jobs
Like people said in here software jobs usually have 1 hr screen, 1 coding screen, then a full day of 4-6 interviews as the final round
Worst I had was Affirm. I had four interviews and didn’t even get a final round cause they made me interview with two separate hiring managers to see if there was a team that needed me. their final round was also 7 interviews so 9 in total in normal cases and would been 11 in my case if I made it
They were paying $250k+ tho

No amount of salary can make me put myself through 11 interviews. Fukk that lol

Idk, seems to be par for the course in tech… I know I’ve had to do 6 interviews or zoom meetings with a prior position I held and when I interviewed for a large gaming publisher it was 5 … but my current job was only 2.. just depends on how you’re introduced to the position …if you can secure a referral it’ll be much easier

The year 3030
Anything more than two interviews is pushing it. Imagine doing five/six interviews and not getting the job, somewhere along the interview someone would rate you low
Narcissist shyt.
I had to do this before, it is bullshyt. Had like 5 meetings (on-site too) and they ghosted afterwards. Waste of fukking time.

I work for a huge tech company. You’re gonna have at LEAST 1 call with the recruiter. One phone screen with a manager(potentially 2). And a interview day with 4-5 one hour interviews.

3 interviews aint a lot frfr. The bullshyt is expecting you to talk off multiple days and making you wait.

A “good” employer would be respectful of your time.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
If you were unemployed and desperate for work then ofcourse but what if you already had a job?

Long story short, I have applied for this job that I really want. I had a initial interview through Zoom which went well.

Then I was invited to do this online questionnaire so they can see what my personality is like.

After this I was invited for a face to face interview which lasted over a hour and at the end I was told by the interviewer that he will be passing feedback to the Managing Director. He said the Managing Director would most likely want to meet me as well.

Here is where I stand. I have no issue having another remote meeting with the manager through Zoom but I would feel frustrated if this has to be face to face.

I think its unfair for me to book time off work again and travel there which by no means is close.

What are your thoughts about a third interview? I was previously only aware about a second interview in job applications lol

You gotta jump thru all those hoops just to be an employee?

I could see if you were trying to get start up capital or some shyt like that. A grant or investment.

I would pass. Unless it’s paying well into the 6 figures, I would walk.

Furthermore, did you interview them? Most people who interview get so caught up in trying to get hired, that they don’t asked enough questions to see if it’s even worth the time or money.

Put it this way: When are most of us most succesful gettin at chicks? When you already got one…or when you got a healthy roster and you would be perfectly fine without her. You content and confident and they can smell it on you.

I say that to say this: Go thru with it. Dont rehearse no answers don’t think about more then 2 seconds until it’s time for the interview. Literally don’t give af. (Still professional). I bet money they’ll offer you, and when they do, ask for a ridiculous amount of money more than it’s listed or than you expect.

Don’t underestimate the company cost of hiring the right person. Or the amount of money they have budgeted for the position. Ie If they offering 100k, the internal budget for it might be 150k if not more. So if they’re at a third interview the clock is ticking they want to close and they have now made a quasi investment in you. Use that as leverage

If you get to a third interview and haven’t discussed salary to at least know y’all are in the same neighborhood then you have goofed.

I’m semi actively looking myself and one of the potential employers paid me for three hour of work to do the technical writing assignment they wanted. It actually made me take them more seriously and eased my mind. This is the same employer that mapped out from the start that it was a 5 interview process.

With that said OP is right, but weigh that againt how much you want the job or how much it can benefit your career.

I’ve seen it play out in plenty of ways, there’s no 1 way salary is broached. You can be in the same ballpark and still request more. You can know the listed salary range and go above that. Sometimes it will behoove you to not box yourself into a salary or range…sometimes it will be behoove them not to. A lot of variables

Ie say he currently makes 100, the ‘ballpark’ is 115-125. Well if hes so nonchalant that he can’t be bothered for a 3rd interview, fukk it request 150 if that’s how you feel. Assuming you haven’t already verbally talked salary and boxed yourself in

I had 8 with Google and had to fly across the world for 5 of them.

Still didn’t get it either
For Google, the first day was an hour and a half long tech writing exercise.

Day 2 was 4 interviews (5 hours). Feedback was good, everyone liked me.

In the end, I had to reach out to the recruiter after not hearing anything, only to be told that the hiring committee said that I didn't have any experience as a tech writer.
