Ive been interviewing lately and 3 is to be the standard. First a zoom one with HR. Then another with the dept head and maybe coworkers. Then a 3rd with all 3 plus maybe the ceo/cfo.

The 3rd one is so they can see you can dress alright and arent reading off from notes when they ask you technical questions.

I think past that is overkill.

It is a job in finance law which I wanna get into and pay is better too.

Put it this way, I will get paid more than what I get in my current role even though I have years of work experience here.

Might be worth it though if it's in a field/price range you want. Sometimes you gotta take the risk even though it's a pain. The gain would be worth it in the end.

3 is normal for a decent paying job. HR/ Recrutier screen then hiring manager then executive. If you get to the executive interview you normally got the job 90% of the time cause the execs normally defer to the hiring manager decision.

Im in tech so I had 6 interviews for my current gig.

You want this job but are unwilling to take some time off to go to a final interview? You obviously don’t want the job. Company will focus on people who want the job.

I want the job but a 3rd interview is unheard of for a job in this field.

Tbh, I thought the initial Zoom interview itself was enough for them to know what kind of nikka they were going to be dealing with.

I suck at interviews too. Always start mumbling when I get put under pressure.

Managed to do well by getting this far. I was hoping the second interview would be the end of my ordeal but no. Dont know what I am gonna say in a third interview

What's the field? I don't understand bailing now after going through 2 rounds.

"Unheard of" goes out the window when things get more competitive.

The HR people do love their games.

Don't be nervous job interview aint nothing but a conversation. Start off by trying to steer the conversation into something that's not about the job, i know it sounds weird and stupid but it works, it'll ease you and relax them.
I did 2 interviews last week and for both of them the first 5 mins was us talking about what shows we watching on TV (I work in TV so it was relatable), another zoom interview I started off by talking about how I just had to wait for 2 hours to get my oil changed cause I was in the car. you're in law find a big law story going on and when they ask you how you're doing say something to the effect of "im doing well been keeping up with ______ case, its crazy" and it should ease the tension cause they've been doing a ton of interviews and they tired of talking about the same shyt too.
If you're a funny guy lean into that within the interview, not to the level they think you're a clown, but tell your answers in a lighter way.
Make them like you. Folks wanna work with people they like more than anything.

Is this the real reason you don't want a 3rd interview?

Have sought out professional services that you can practice with?
