We dont post the ranges...his headhunter asked him what are his salary requirements...and thats what he submitted to them....they sent that over with his resume after he reviewed the position requirements
he's not even in the ball park for a dev 2 and he knows it
He's fishing for a incompetent shop to take him in at a high wage
He just dont know this interview not gonna go as planned
I have done enough interviews now to know what folks know and dont know by what they have on their resume...
golden rule...dont put stuff on resume if you not prepared to talk about it..also dont put 120k if you not about that life

a real professional leader would either not bring him in or ask him the simple question, what do you think you can do here now that you believe is worth $120K?
if you like the guy, just tell him , I don't think we are aligned with the salary with your experience right now.

You sound like a power tripper. I've interviewed plenty of people...looked at plenty of resumes. Only the qualified ones get the interview but I go into looking at it positive, like I hope dude is good personally cuz he's good on paper. This person is ultimately helping you if you manage them, and you're in the position to cultivate him and help him come up in the world.
I guess we just have different perspectives. Is 120k outlandish? If so, let him know but don't be a dikk and try to squash his career.

Anyway, like I said...if I feel breh got the capacity to learn I will make a recommendation...and maybe 65-70k if Im impressed

by nature a head hunter would not send him if that's wasn't in your range. You're either fronting or your company is out here paying dev 2's 6 digits for a 80k jobs. You live in Atlanta so i know you're not hitting 6 digits for those jobs breh

I have been a contractor...so I know the game...believe what you want..They say "what are you looking for in a salary"...you then say "blah, blah"
They submit you to the company...we dont even look at the salary until we are actually interested in you
By doing it that way...we have the leverage...because we tell the head-hunter we are interested...but we can only pay this.
The fact they have a job offer is good enough in most cases.
Now when we get to the senior and up ranges....we take all that a lil more serious because most of them have 5-10 years work experience....not like this dude

Degree: Business Administration in Computer Information Systems...not even Computer science...
Graduated: spring 2015

Just a couple of his positions points he put on his resume..
· Worked for local businesses and schools to provide them with a unique online branding where there wasn’t one
· Worked with other designers and developers on various projects
This nikka asking for 120k...and I know for a fact I will have to hold his hand for months to develop at our level...
Just a lil fyi brehs....i bring all this up because as of the hiring of the last "lead dev" that washed out after 3 months of work because he got exposed.....all new nikkas on our portfolio have to come through me because I warned management about dude that washed out after they hired him without my knowledge. It took me a week to see he was an impostor and they paid dude big boy $ for 3 months and he didnt do shyt....AND he had 10 years experience..
Finishing CS soon and I wouldn't even ask for that much. This guy came with a weak resume and CIS degree asking for 6 figures, starting. Yeah, he is crazy.
