I can't believe the responses in this thread that OP is hating, crabish and whatnot:dwillhuh:

I mean if this was for the Google's of the world, then maybe 120K would make sense. But I mean shyt, he didnt even do computer science. There are compsci graduates probably multiple years in the game who aren't even earning that. Even petroleum engineering grads, when oil was over £100, weren't even earning that.
Thats a slap in the face to every hard working breh out there.

What kinda system are y'all advocating? So we should start just offering handouts just cuz you're black. How would you even know whether that money would even help the black community at large?:youngsabo:

Well the interview hasnt taken place, so who can say what the OP will ultimately do. That being said, I am personally believe that if the applicant didn't make typo and is going into the interview believing he can walk out with anything close, then that request is an insult. I might not be appeal to my better side to go hard on him, but damn it feels just.

What is the point of going hard on him? Making him an offer significantly lower than what he's asking or not making him an offer at all would be hard enough.

U nikkas seem eager to let your egos take priority over your professionalism. There would be nothing gained by making an example out of dude. Do the interview, make an offer, keep it pushing. This dude didn't do anything to warrant being OP's whipping boy.

i have a few brehs who were doing recruiting for their firm last year and were being super smug douchebags in talking about the candidates. literally making up questions on the spot to fukk with candidates for entertainment, making super indicting comments on their character, etc... basically corny ass power-tripping shyt.

Dude said the salary request is ridiculous, he just graduated and has a thin resume. Why even bring him in for the interview then? Something isn't adding up.

Well I am not advocating a dressing down, but if he really thinks he merits a salary that his seniors are making, then he should at least be tested with same criteria.

Why are yall even interviewing dude if he is so underqualified for the position? The more I think about it the more this whole thing seems a waste of time and a reflection of poor leadership. Yall aint got better shyt to do than dress down overly underqualified candidates?

Why not? He may actually be a good potential worker that we can make an offer on.

Remember this is contract to hire...he's asking for 120k if we bring him on permanent.

He's not gonna get that...but he may get a job offer

Exactly...had he put a reasonable # on there..then I would give him questions on his level

By saying 120..hes telling me he has something to offer that rivals my seniors in the bldg

Time to find out.....
