Didn't finish reading thru (I may have even commented on this before) but this is hilarious the kid got what he deserved

How the fukk a recent grad with 1 year experience asking for 120k even in Cloud computing technology that is not likely.

I think OP was right to grill him he should have been a savant with an IT degree from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business school or some shyt. Like GTFO he gave the kid the reality check he needed.

If yall think OP should have gone softer on him then yall don't get IT or tech in general and how ludicrous that kid was.

it's in £s at the moment just want a job because my EXP is lacking

Don't accept anything less than like 35k GBP per year that is full-time. If they pay less offer to consult part-time offsite. Depends on what field you're in if you can swing that though.

What's your speciality?

You let him use Google in a tech interview?

I did for fixing code....remeber he still has to identify the issue...find the fix and know how to implement the fix......recompile and deploy.

Thata different than me asking a book question....then they google

Good idea. What type of problem was it? For my first job I had to write a program on paper and go over the complexities.

Pseudo or Syntax-correct?

I'm hoping pseudo :gucci:
As long as you can convey knowledge of the subject matter and have decent whiteboard skills that's usually all they want :yeshrug:

Not like you'll doing much coding outside of an ide anyway

I had to make a linked list class and design a queue for a fax machine in java didnt know they wanted it to compile.
Piece of cake, done in a hour :smugfavre:. got called back for third round of interview " 'dib'

your missing a semicolon on page 2 on this function, and here as well. ":gucci:

So they really did want it to be syntax correct? :gucci:

I'm glad you got called back but that's stupid in my opinion. They are treating it like a college exam. You're going to be using an IDE no matter what you do, fukk a semi-colon.

there's nothing wrong with what @Silver Surfer did..i mean they brought him to see if he did know his shyt...there are IT cats out there who are actually learning everything from book and doing it on their own but their resumes dont add up...I know 2 people specifically who got jobs based off actually showing and proving..he could have been a savant which if that was the case im sure they could have worked with him on salary..but people dont up and make 120K off the bat out of college with little experience...its a small percentage..nothing wrong with a reality check
