The actor Michael K. Williams, aka OMAR from The Wire, spoke about having the same conflict. He grew up in Brooklyn in a section where the lines were drawn between African American kids and Caribbean kids.

He mentioned it in past interviews and very briefly in this yt clip in spoiler

Blacks from the English speaking Caribbean have been moving to Northern American cities since around the time that Great Migration started. Talking over a hundred years ago. I'd guess that in 2019, it's pretty common place in those cities for people to have relatives of different backgrounds/ethnicities.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that people are from different sections of the country when these topics come up. Their experiences and the history of their communities might be different.

No, there was not a big mixing of american & caribbean until the 80's. I told you this at least 3-4 times, but you keep repeating this lie that they were here in large numbers for almost a century when facts say different. Why are you so hell bent on telling lies when it comes to black foreign history in the states? It is very weird to me. You act like it was normal to see west indians all over NYC like you do now, when in the 80's that wasn't normal, only in certain sections. Ask any person 50 & older, and they would tell you they barely knew any west indians unless they lived in certain parts of Brooklyn or the Bronx. If they are 60 & older they will definitely say they didn't know many regardless of where they are from. You can really forget about Africans. Maybe one or two, but that is it.

Flatbush only became majority black in the 90's, before that it was mostly whites with a sprinkle of black americans, and latins, the west indians came in the late 70's/early 80's. That is for most of the country as well.

How does it feel knowing that a bi-racial with a WHOLE white man living in the house is eligible for reparations according to #ADOS but youre not? :jbhmm:

I ain't tripping off that shyt

It just shows you how petty and selfish most people are with this so called movement

I think ADOS should be bigger than just seeking Reparation check

Besides I'm good I've accomplished what I always wanted to do in the time frame I sought...homeowner...business man...secured contracting career..healthy child who wants for nothing

Besides most African Americans in the REAL WORLD are not losing sleep over this reparations issue

Only the Underachieving broke azz n1gga nerds on these messageboards and YouTube who want to blame black immigrants for their bad Decisions in life
