Everybody knows Kool Herc and Coke La Roc invented what we now know as hip hop in the early 70s

Who else could claim that title ?!?
:why:
No, they helped invent rap music, hip hop culture was around before them

And even then the first rap song came out in 1968, way before herc & coke. Just give them their props for pushing the arts forward, but don't go along with spreading lies. I thought you were the GOD?:picard:

OP, why do non ados men act funny towards ADOS individuals in the public?

A non ados black woman today said hello and smiled at me but a man weeks ago mean mugged me, yet was overly friendly with the refuge immigrant :gucci:.

:mjpls:

Maybe you should have smiled and flirted with the Non ADOS man

How could you be on a hip hop site, and not know about pigmeat markham's "here comes the judge""

How could you not know about DJ Hollywood who was actually rapping to a beat? Coke la rock just did jive tlaking like radio dj's did, he didn't rap on beat

How could you not know about the black spades gang who were the guys who danced to the break that Herc saw, and got him to make breaks his main theme for a party?

like I said the culture was here before herc & coke, they just helped push it forward

Coke La rock's style

:snoop:

of course i know this
i'm like da oldest nikka on here & seen plenty of the pioneers do their thing as a kid

problem with your statement... is u have it backwards

  • rapping was created back in the motherland by different tribes
  • hip hop was created in 1973 in da boogie down bronx by Clive Campbell

So why didn't the music sound like rap if that was case? How come you can't find no African music that sounds like a rap song before rap became big?

You say it was created in 1973, while ignoring all the things I mentioned that paved the way a few years before that? Yall say young people give no respect to the elders, meanwhile you older guys do the same thing to those who was living this shyt before Herc. Hip Hop is filled with hypocrites who all want fame.

You know why the shyt got taken over? Because of people like you who just can't give props where its due. That made a lane for these foul execs to trick the kids. If your history started with lies, it will end with lies, unless the people start speaking truth.

@KENNY DA COOKER you dapping him? You said it came from Jamaica! You are a clown who is fronting so hard. I remember when you said NYC didn't have a car culture like L.A., and I called you out on it. I grew up seeing all the different cars in the city, and named them, different years had different cars that were popping, and what customization were done to them. You didn't know because you wasn't around the shyt in the 80's, you just listened to the radio, but you come on here talking about your age, and making it seem like you know what you're talking about. Just deal with hip hop on the radio, and once you got older when you went down south.

what are u talking bout ???

rapping doesn't need music or sound to be performed
and like i said nikkaz was rapping like day 1, in Africa

i ain't ignoring nothing
da shyt you continue to talk about isn't & was never hip hop ((( u basically referring to Disco music ))) all dem DJ’s u & your homie illmaticdelta keep referring to were NOTHING BUT DISCO DJ’s and wanted no parts of hip hop cause they ALL looked down to it ((( it was ghetto & low class to dem upperdy nikkaz ))) till the late 90’s like 25 years later when hip hop became a billion dollar genre

the ONLY hypocrites are dem revisionist history nikkaz & the people that co-sign dem

How does it feel knowing that a bi-racial with a WHOLE white man living in the house is eligible for reparations according to #ADOS but youre not? :jbhmm:

Why are you in every ados thread spreading lies? @KENNY DA COOKER would get full reparations. If he had a baby with a Nigerian women nine months from now, their child would also be eligible.

Do some of y'all even read the scholarship behind ados or do you just get upset when some black non-ados get criticized?

Above the fray.
good thread

I assume that a bi-cultural Black child will identify more with the mother, even if it's only slightly . Raised, nurtured and fed by her and develop an early awareness of her family culture. I think that applies to a child with both parents from same country, but different regions, also.
