In an absolute stunner Josh Allen has been named MVP over Lamar Jackson despite not making All-pro first team (First time since 1987)

How the hell is Burrow 3rd when his team didn't make the playoffs?:why:

How does he get credit for winning a few games late but no blame for losing games early?

How was his season more valuable than Barkley's?

I still don't get how Lamar had a historic season gets trumped by Allen having a very good season. Nothing Josh did was memorable.
Burrow kept the bengals in the playoff hunt with a horrible defense and a horrible offensive line. Their season should’ve been over by thanksgiving. Instead basically because of him they were a tiebreaker away from the playoffs.

The Chiefs would literally be playing for an undefeated season if it wasn’t for Allen and the Bills.

They also beat the Lions as well. Don’t bring up injuries either as they were still beating teams in spite of it.

He and the Bills legit had the two biggest wins of the season.

Allen also had 18-19 turnovers while the last time a quarterback won with that many was 2001.
And a 92 passer rating which is some 2002 stuff

There was no statistical or winning case for Allen being mvp this year. If it’s wins give it to Mahomes Goff or Sam as they won more games. If it’s stats it’s Lamar(by far) Burrow or Goff/Sam. If you wanna go outside QB it’s Saquon in that regard.

The criteria changes from year to year and there’s no consistency in it even from posters on this site.

Last year and the prior year Allens stats beat jacksons...but now its all about stats?
Last year Allen had 22 turnovers to Lamar's 13 to offset the stats advantage. And part of Allen's stats advantage was that he played an extra game cause Baltimore had wrapped up the 1 seed early. Add in that Lamar left 5 games early mostly due to having games wrapped up early.

Was he not the QB when they opened the season scoring 10 points and losing at home to the Patriots?

They racked up 7 out of 9 wins vs the Panthers, Giants, Browns 2x, Raiders, Cowboys, and Titans.

The only good teams they beat were Denver and Pittsburgh.

Now tell me again why he deserved MVP votes over Barkley. Hell, how did he deserve votes over Goff.

His season was nothing but empty stats.

This is just some members of the media trying to prop him up like Josh because they're who they want to be the face of the league.

Having the best (or at worst top 3) WR duo played a big part in that. Burrow was great but Chase was next level as well and turned basic plays into huge TOs. Disingenuous to give Burrow alone credit for that.

No it doesn’t. The NFL MVP goes to the most statistically dominant player. This isn’t the NBA. Every other major sports award is largely consistent. Lamar winning last year was because no one had a clear cut statistical case and he was great in every big game and was sitting out entire quarters. He basically walked down all the competition. Dak was horrendous in all of the big games in a way that took the clear cut statistical argument away from him. That hadn’t happened at any point in the past 20 years.
