That 1080P shyt on the PS4 is almost equivalent to the Sega Genesis "Blast Processing" bullshyt. Sony was just smart to take advantage of Microsoft's mistakes under Mattrick. The games don't look THAT different outside of a few exceptions.

Yeah but almost every game is 1080P on PS4. there's very few sub 1080P games on the PS4.

Sub HD games aren't a new thing, it was exactly the same last gen with 720P and yet lots of games were sub720p on the 260/PS3.

Brehs you actually believe these new consoles will be able to run games at 4K after the shyt they pulled this gen? It will be the same story all over again, they'll run perfectly at 1080p and struggle at 2K. And then all you clowns will argue here whether GTA 6 runs better at 1080p at 120fps, 2k at 60fps or 4k at 30fps.

All this does is it confrms that it's a wrap for consoles in this form. Writing was on the wall when they started using PC architecture for this gen and now they have to have a refresh after 3 years to compete with PCs.

Hopefully VR will be ready soon to breathe in some life in this stale market.

That's gonna be difficult.

It's hard to show a minor FPS/resolution bump on an E3 stage, especially since they are usually showing touched up or best case scenario videos.

They are just gonna have to shout 4K 4K 4K!!!!!! And hope that gets people to jump in.

When my 4k tv goes into screen saver mode it shows a series of 4k backgrounds. I can clearly see the difference between these photos and 1080 photos. When i go to youtube and look up 4k videos to stream through my tvs youtube app, i can clearly see the difference 4k makes. And these devs better drop updates to these fukkin games i gotso i can play in 4k.

But I don't know if any 4K source to view video game trailers. It's gonna have to be screenshots, which are usualy already touched up/supersampled anyway.

There's virtually no point in them putting out 4K consoles in 2017 because the game hardware tech is still struggling to get to that point where performance is smooth and the owners of 4K TVs are a niche market for console gamers. Estimates are by 2019 34% of homes will have 4K in them. Of that 34% likely an even smaller percentage will actually be gamers.

Nothing really has to push people to go 4K. Its going to be the new standard so at some point they'll just stop selling large 1080p sets and people will replace them with 4K sets.

4K TV sets are not that much more expensive than nice 1080P sets these days. So it will become the standard sooner than later.

Who gives a shyt at this point. I am actually starting to get a little annoyed with all the bickering back and forth. The reality is that the Scorpio is only about 1 year sooner than what traditional cycles come out at. The OG XBOX was released in 2001 and the 360 was released in 2005. There is no reason to think that we will ever see much longer than a 4-5 year gap between hardware releases by each company anymore.

In fact, BE GLAD that the old shyt will still carry over to the next gen because of the x86 architecture being set as the standard. People really need to stop bytching

The reality is 1080p is good enough. Movies and TV look fine at 1080p. I got a 4K TV but I don't watch any 4K content on it. I actually have the PC plugged up to it set to output at 1080p because Windows still has scaling issues at 4K.
