Is Chrono Trigger too dated to play for the first time in 2016?

I could see someone struggling to play the game if they've never been exposed to older generation games. To me it holds up well but still that would be understandable.

Slightly overated, maybe garbage game. I played it last year and saw how dated it was and the combat was too slow. My 20 minutes playtime turned me off of the game. I immediately hopped onto COD afterwards.

"If you like Jrpgs and you thinking on passing up on Chrono Trigger 'cause you feel all the other shyt that's come out over the years that you played might might make you go ' What's this old shyt' :what: then you playing yourself. Atleast give it a go, if you don't fall in love with it or atleast like how it's setup then by all means, quit it, but it's always in the top 10 rpgs of all time for a reason. :obama: Plus the soundtrack is just..:ohlawd: multiple endings based off of choices/actions, the combat/animations when you level 'em up...:whew: Try it, man.

The talent behind chrono trigger and what it was suppose to represent shines through brightly till this day. There are certain movies that regardless of the age of it the TLC shine's through like it was the day of release. Not many games or movies can say this. But chrono trigger can definitely. For as great as the scope was of the game it never tried to be to grandiose and it shows. Things like final fantasy 6 and 7 you can tell that they tried to make it and epic experience with high end "graphics" for the time and as it ages its shows.

Chrono trigger man....

The game is just in a league of its own.

If you can get past the active time battle (which might be too slow for alot of the ADHD babies now) then you are set for an great experience. I'd say kick back relax and just enjoy it. Dont look for some Walking dead game of throne type experience with deaths and cliff hangers. And just enjoy a good game, with a good story.

Chrono Cross is better though

:ohlawd:

:mjcry:

Chrono Cross music is the strongest thing about the game, and its still isn't as good as Trigger alot of the best song from cross are just remixed or sampled theme's from trigger. I can't lie though, I listened to the CC intro theme until I was sick of it.:whew:
