Is El-P an insufferably wack CAC or a genius?

His best work was what he did for Mr. Lif. He was crap from 2002 to about 2012. And I'm just talking about production.

I Phantom though...

He makes the RTJ albums almost unlistenable with his trash raps, his beats get repetitive as hell

But he's a cac so he will be a critical darling

hit or miss for me but i haven't listened to everything.

out of his solo album i listened to two. i liked "I'll Sleep When You're Dead". didn't like the other one and i can't even remember the name.

i think i liked some album from canibal ox, not even sure which album i was listening to.

i loved R.A.P. Music. production on it fit Killer Mike perfect. First RTJ was good. didn't like everything but overall i liked it more than i disliked it. I just feel like the RTJ projects are all over the place both lyrically and production wise (the first one flows better though). Ironically, eventhough i'm not a huge fan of El-P on the mic (just not my cup of tea), he actually has arguably the best verse on the whole first RTJ (A Christmas fukking Miracle).

Overall, he's dope but hit or miss for me. haven't listened to much else.

El is a dope producer and a merely good rapper. His style isn't for everyone.

Every once in a while he's capable of a lyrical gem. When he said "El'll vent on you harder than Fukushima Breezes" on Last Huzzah remix :wow:
