the problem is that yall keep talking content but really it's the execution of said content that is the root issue

which low key is the real key to being a dope emcee, lyricist, rapper, or non singular authorship rap performer. yes, WAY more important than content. WAY. how do you deliver your rhymes? is there rhythmic syncopation with the track that makes the head nod automatically? does whatever you're saying sound fly when it leaves your mouth? does the cadence & vocal intonations move you emotionally? is the voice rich, resonant, and leave an indelible mark on the listener? do the vocal leanings hug the track or fight the track? do you believe that line or lines in its conveyance of emotion?

eminem fails miserably in all these categories 90% of the time now. it's become a very forced try hard affair because with age & isolation he's lost that edge so now he's switched the rubric & says i'm going to technical rap you to death until you're in awe of my mastery. it is absolute trash. just listen to tim westwood microphone freestyle for that last semblance of shady's greatness. compare it to now and you're like yeah it's completely over b

I appreciate your analysis, however just because you sound smooth saying the alphabet, doesn’t mean you are saying anything of substance.

It’s ironic as fukk

remember 20 years ago he used to clown Canibus for rapping this way ?

“tell him about the sun rain moon and stars….intergalactic metaphors from Mars”

he even clowned Canibus angry voice and now he uses a similar voice

you can’t make this shyt up :dead:

I understand what he meant, and my point still stands.

If Eminem had a different delivery with the same lyrics we would still be having this same conversation.

maybe, maybe not.

kamikaze is probably his best recent album still, and the content there fell back to criticizing his critics, but it sounded a whole lot better than revival and other shyt...because he didn't really rely on the robot shyt

Killshot and The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady were the last time I enjoyed Eminem because they were about *something* sort of.

Everyone praising Relapse...have you actually listened to it recently? I mean...I’d rather hear him rap about his family than dancing in women’s underwear and getting molested....

I did last week actually, its an extremely dope horrorcore album/great album in general. A dream product would be for him and Elzhi to collab on an album of that content :wow:. They both have catalog to back it up.

Do y’all make threads about other rappers you don’t like when they have features on songs?

The Eminem hate is only irrational when you consider how many other terrible rappers or rappers we don’t like that we simply ignore.

It’s not even as if this is a place where Eminem is praised. This is a place where we go out of our way to be annoyed at his existence in Hip Hop.

So again, why aren’t there more threads about other rappers we hate? What is the fascination with constantly complaining about Eminem’s existence?

And it hurts how far he's fell. :mjcry:That Nas feature sounded so forced. I thought for sure he would bring back that Infinite flow.

Infinite flow wouldn't match that beat, go back and listen to that album again and the type of production Porter gave him. Cats on here really dont understand rap like that?????

he started to agree with the criticisms too though...so wasn't just the internet

How he felt/and what he did to appease the critics are two separate things. All of his albums had critic disapproval to some degree. It wasn't until he went through Proof's death and his drug recovery that he really started paying attention to it like that. There was nothing wrong with that album, Dre was stellar on that project as well.

he doesn't need to appease critics though...if that were the case, we wouldn't have Kamikaze.

I agree on the bold. I forget which record/song it was but he mentioned having too many yes men in his creative circle and him not wanting that. If there is something missing its that dynamic, with that rectified you get back to not caring about the critics.

Personally I dont care what he does, he's earned the right to explore creatively/other ways to drop a rap. Rapping the same gets boring to some.
