we supposed to believe u walked in to Papoose with 3 dudes and he had 30 nikkas with him and u beat them all.....:mjlol:

Fukk outa here. Dis nikka be telling bullshyt tales. In another interview he said Papoose had 10 dudes with him. Nikka be flip flopping like a moffaka. No damn real street dude be telling these tales mehn. Papoose story been consistent. He was dolo, Joe came in deep, words were exchanged he snuffed Joe, Joe's entourage jumped him. Same consistent story.

Fat Joe: he had 30 dudes with him :comeon:

Nobody ever said Joe was a punk but I can see most of y'all believe the rep that he has painted, even those of you who claim to be from his hood. As I said, Joe is not and never was a punk...ran with wild dudes... but all his stories about running blocks and having 5 Benzes before rap are all duck tales. They're actually tales of SHOWBIZ. Joe was an underling to Show and Show was the one with all the money, cars, major weight and not to mention a not-so-much talked about rep for puttin down the m***** game. Joe has pretty much lived off of Showbiz' rep and told a lot of his stories as if they were his. Show of course allows this because Show not tryin to be a rapper, never needed the image and would also NOT want to have stories out there on him when he was still hot and in the streets in the 90s. If you a older head, know older heads from the terror era 80s BX, or know the rep surrounding Showbiz... then you know Joe is frontin a little bit.. albeit with a "license" to do so... but most all that shyt he talkin at the end of this joint:

Is all Showbiz.... Joe never lived that kingpin life... was a hardrock street thug, no doubt...but never a boss until rap.

He still gets saluted as a real one.. and I believe he is. But you know... for "rap reasons" you gotta exagerrate your story...and if you can pull from someone else's stories/life that you grew up around, and they co-sign you doing so... then why not?

I can belive this.

Remember an episode of Juan Epstein (remember those?) 1 time where he was asked about Show's rep and he said
something like "Showbiz is serious. Veeery very serious. To the point we shouldnt be talking about it" (not verbatim).

Plus they obviously grew up around each other with the DITC shyt so i can see that.

How many of these guys are rappers?

Joe might have been tough and Jay might have sold drugs but if they weren't entertainers with a platform you're telling me you'd know who they were? You'd know their names like the ones I listed? That's the difference.

There were a ton of tough guys in the 80's but the guy who they feared was a legend. There were a ton of drug dealers in the 80's but the guys raking in millions were legends.

People write books, articles, documentaries, and movies about legends because they did something extraordinary. People aren't bringing up Joe unless they're asked about him.

I get where you’re coming from. Those guys were full fledged balls to the wall gangstas. Joe essentially would have been working for any one of these guys or his crew would have been compliant with a bigger operation. Joe was not pumping nowhere in the stratosphere of what they had going

Outside of work or bodies he was probably middle management in a sense. Making money on the street with the ability to handle business or get in contact with willing participants

Truth be told that’s a lot on it’s own. Most guys talking like that don’t even have that. On top of that his name has always held weight over the decades in places he’s not even from.

He may not have been the biggest gangsta ever...but being the biggest was never a requirement for holding that title

To top it off he’s not locked behind the wall and made a civilian name for himself via music. Can’t beat it

Yes.

Put it like this. I'm from Newark and my cousin is from the River Houses and he knew Joe before he started rapping. He had a crew and everything. Long story short Joe was a great friend to have and a worse enemy because even if he didn't touch you himself, he was cool with all the shootas.
