Cam was way more in the streets than Big L. Cam was a real hustler. That nikka was moving around for real. Especially during early Dipset days.

Calling these rappers hustlers is a disrepect to dudes who was really deep in the streets. Cam wasnt buying ki's. Im frankly kinda tired of the narratives with these dudes. Cam needed a music deal to see real money. Thats facts. Its facts to 95% of the ones who claim they were in the streets.

we in 2020 now.. not coming at you on it, just saying...

Nobody ever said Joe was a punk but I can see most of y'all believe the rep that he has painted, even those of you who claim to be from his hood. As I said, Joe is not and never was a punk...ran with wild dudes... but all his stories about running blocks and having 5 Benzes before rap are all duck tales. They're actually tales of SHOWBIZ. Joe was an underling to Show and Show was the one with all the money, cars, major weight and not to mention a not-so-much talked about rep for puttin down the m***** game. Joe has pretty much lived off of Showbiz' rep and told a lot of his stories as if they were his. Show of course allows this because Show not tryin to be a rapper, never needed the image and would also NOT want to have stories out there on him when he was still hot and in the streets in the 90s. If you a older head, know older heads from the terror era 80s BX, or know the rep surrounding Showbiz... then you know Joe is frontin a little bit.. albeit with a "license" to do so... but most all that shyt he talkin at the end of this joint:

Is all Showbiz.... Joe never lived that kingpin life... was a hardrock street thug, no doubt...but never a boss until rap.

He still gets saluted as a real one.. and I believe he is. But you know... for "rap reasons" you gotta exagerrate your story...and if you can pull from someone else's stories/life that you grew up around, and they co-sign you doing so... then why not?

But that's every street dude. There's very few with the real money, or comfortable/stable money, and the rest of the underings are living off of the rep of the "team." Most of them be driving the "team wheels." Especially back then in the 90's, driving the other person's signature car (or one of them) resulted in a lot of the wrong person being killed.

Wasn’t Cam, like the industry weed connect, in the later Dipset days?

Never said he didn’t bro. And “Street” is too vague to be honest. Big L hung around a lot of street dudes, Big L was around a lot of stuff. How active he was, I’m not from Harlem or in his age bracket to say. Just from stories I’ve heard Big L was your average nikka from the hood that was around a lot of shyt. I know he participated in shyt from verified stories from his brother and Fat Joe.

The REAL problems with all this "is this rap nikka real" talk is three things

The populace at large only know legit street legends/live nikkas through

1. If they were HEAVY in the game and the regular media shines a spotlight on them

2. They know them through rap nikkas talking about them.

3. Folks thinking every weight moving gun busting nikka is a superhero who mows down everything in their path like Arnold in Commando, moves like Nino Brown, has a network like Vito, talks shyt like Gucci, skates free like Gotti and takes no losses ever

it provides a LOT of insulation for folks actually identifying REAL nikkas that are/were heavy in the streets or got legit ties.

And honestly? That's perfectly fine. :manny:

Yeah true ... that’s why I felt he was one foot in one foot out not truly intransed in that world like his brothers etc ... I heard story’s about big lee tho that he was a bully and wasn’t all that liked was always aggressive with everyone for no reason in that infominds documentary on the nfl crew gees cousin said he felt big lee was a lil envious ov that boxer cat Reggie white Cause all tho he was with the bizz he was very approachable n respectful etc he said Reggie white stepped in the middle to cool things wen big lee started mouthing off to Lou Simms from lynch mob..... and people gravitated towards reggie white which rubbed big lee the wrong way where as big lee was just aggressive and never had a good nature about him ....tbh that’s why big lee got shot 2 weeks after getting out of prison tryed to press and get aggressive with some cat cause he heard that cats uncle was helping hide Gerard Woodley .... threatened to kill dude so dude just blasted big lee away .... didn’t seem very smart to me....
