I heard about this a long time ago but I thought it was bs...wow

I once heard in an interview, might have been with AG, and they were talking about how DITC had rep in the streets before rap. He was like y'all all official street dudes that just happened to rap.

Cam was way more in the streets than Big L. Cam was a real hustler. That nikka was moving around for real. Especially during early Dipset days.
by doing what? being a tough guy goon like joe? I think not. He was more known for just being outside.

Cam and Zeek, along with people like Tito Poppins, Blacka and luka brazi were the only ones who were good in harlem off gp

Hell no, lol. I heard he was tough but nothing anywhere close to a Kingpin type of guy, just a typical street thug

You can kind of tell even without knowing by just listening to his interviews, 80% of the time he is talking about how tough and gangsta he was/is. Gangsters only talk like that in prison, the only people who publicly talk like that in the free world are rapper guys tryna push an image...or old ashy ass washed dudes tryna eat off of their crusty ass old street days.
:comeon:

Fat joe was always ready to fight and his people’s handled the shooting game well. He grew up with the era of pistol Pete and b.o. and never got robbed or touched by any of them. although at first fat joe had issues after b.o. died because they thought joe had him killed. But if you can beef and still hold water with them dudes during that time, you know he was strong in them streets. And he would fight anyone. Never back down.

Cam was never a goon, he was a hustler. One of my homies I went to Erasmus with, was doing a doc years ago on gangs (He's a crip) and he told me how Cam's name was coming up among nikkas in other places about him moving around. I'll just leave it at that.

I was speaking more on those people in the original quoted were mostly tough guys, goons, shooters or robbers

Nobody ever said Joe was a punk but I can see most of y'all believe the rep that he has painted, even those of you who claim to be from his hood. As I said, Joe is not and never was a punk...ran with wild dudes... but all his stories about running blocks and having 5 Benzes before rap are all duck tales. They're actually tales of SHOWBIZ. Joe was an underling to Show and Show was the one with all the money, cars, major weight and not to mention a not-so-much talked about rep for puttin down the m***** game. Joe has pretty much lived off of Showbiz' rep and told a lot of his stories as if they were his. Show of course allows this because Show not tryin to be a rapper, never needed the image and would also NOT want to have stories out there on him when he was still hot and in the streets in the 90s. If you a older head, know older heads from the terror era 80s BX, or know the rep surrounding Showbiz... then you know Joe is frontin a little bit.. albeit with a "license" to do so... but most all that shyt he talkin at the end of this joint:

Is all Showbiz.... Joe never lived that kingpin life... was a hardrock street thug, no doubt...but never a boss until rap.

He still gets saluted as a real one.. and I believe he is. But you know... for "rap reasons" you gotta exagerrate your story...and if you can pull from someone else's stories/life that you grew up around, and they co-sign you doing so... then why not?

Exactly.

Why do people who probably never even been to the Bronx speak on something like this with conviction? Lol, just say "idk" or state your opinion and k.i.m.

Fat Joe being a former drug kingpin is comedy to anyone from the Bronx. He was a goon, nothing more nothing less. Whatever tho, fans are crazy, amazing imaginations.
