No. He has an amazing discography so far. Cold Day in Hell, Piñata, Bandanna, Alfredo, Fetti.

All top tier projects.

If he was more influential he could have a case. We should revisit this in 3 years.
This album is definitely on the list, before the hype

Counting all his albums and mixtapes he probably has 7-8 projects with no skips straight raw.

If it wasn't for the antics these answers would be much different, trust me

He's like an underground ish The Game...fire discography, terrible antics aside from that.

I'd say no, and I'm obviously one of his biggest fans on the site. Even though I thought "SSS" was mid.

Legend is a very rare term. Yes he's dope and yes he has a great discography but that applies to a lot of people. Legend should be used extremely sparingly though.

As far as the stuff outside of rap....it's entertaining (for all the wrong reasons) but nobody cares. Gibbs fanbase isn't mainstream so it's a subsect of a subsect of fans that #1 know who he is and #2 actually follow him outside of music to know all this shyt. I know a handful of Gibbs fans and none of them know about any of what he's clowned for social media.

Fred.

I can't agree that 18 years is too early for legend status. This post is overall solid though.
nikkas stuck in a time warp but will call nikkas like Pac (6 years) and Big (5 years) legends because they died.

Bro hella people still don’t even know who J Dilla is

That mean he ain’t a legend too?

People that don't know Dilla's name know of his work

His attachment to pockets of underground Detroit... let along certain streams of national trends... his effect and impact is way bigger than his name... and im not one that push Dilla's legacy like that cause people get extra with that one too

From Chicagoland to Indiana to the midwest as a whole to effect/impact... like cmon man. If Gibbs stopped rapping tonight that'll be it. His art aint got no legs to compare to Dilla or be called a legend

He was one of my favorite rappers last decade, but no. He doesn't have any hits or commercial success, and most of his projects are good but not great. And he did a lot of embarrassing things in the last few years.

You mean 2 of the biggest and most sampled/quoted rappers ever?

No way :mjlol:
They wasn’t when they passed.

Stop dikkriding

Yall gone make nikkas like Gibbs and Alchemist work until they’re 80 before you compare them to nikkas that had a half decade run in their 20s.
